Does anyone have any experience mixing Prestec with Duratec additive 904-001 to improve flow-out

No experience with the additive. I did completely refinish my Std Cirrus this winter using Prestec. You can view the process at the Sid Cirrus Yahoo Group site. It is a folder titled 209 project.
It turned out nice. Sprayed with conventional gravity feed gun. Added 30 percent acetone to aid flow out

No experience with the Duratec additive. In my experience, the best way to get it to flow out is to use a good quality slow flash lacquer thinner like Dupont 3602S. Use many thin coats to avoid sagging and overthin the last coat to help everything lay down.

Craig is right. I followed his advice when I painted my Tetra and it came out great.

Thanks for the reply's. To Craig or Brad: I have used a slow lacquer thinner, it was ok but not as good a flow-out as I would like, I used about 8 to 10 %. Do you use more than that?

I thin first coats to about the consistency of 2% milk. Last coat, skim milk. I've never measured percentage, but I think Simtec does have recommendations regarding viscosity & you can use a viscosity cup to check it. You may also want to do some sample panels with a range of viscosity.
The very first coat needs to be just a tack coat (mist the area) & let that cure for a bit so that the first full coat has something to hang onto. Otherwise that first coat just runs off.
Cheers,
Craig
