Petr Krejcirík at the controls of the new 304S (Shark) prototype,( the one and only one entered in the competition ), after two days of competition is in 1st place in the open class (out of a total of 41 competitors). Results are on http://www.pribinacup.sk/2007/results/
Pretty impressive results I might say...

I'm curious what handicap is being used. Any info on that? Is it the
same as for 'non-S' 304 (DAeC index of 110)?

certainly not..... you'll see they handicap some older gliders and there is
a slight difference in 18M and < and 18m and > but among all the 18 Meter
gliders the 304S has as you can see the consitantly had some of best actual
(non-handicapped) overall speeds posted among all gliders in this contest
being only bettered by very few and then only true open class gliders, not
by other 18M gliders.
If you look at the standings after day 3, Petr Krejcirík and the 304S were
given 33 fewer points than (LS8-18) at the same speed.
Still after 3 days of competition the 304S remains on top of all in overall
standings
I know there are a lot out there watching with interest, and I know
obviously some hopeing that the 304 doesn't perform as well or outperform
some of the brand "X" gliders.... for whatever reason... but it's pretty
hard to ignore this as an already great achievement ....

On day 3, the 304S beat an ASG-29(18m) (896 points to 890), but the 304s
had a slower speed (81.8 km/h to 83.5 km/h). Not sure what that means,
as there does not appear to be a consistent relationship between speed
and points for even gliders of the same model.

A,
Can you tell us what handicap the 304S is assigned, and how it was
decided upon?
