Windows Users... by

Here is an interesting statement contained within the MicroSoft

"If you are a Windows OneCare user and your current status is green, you
are already protected from known malware that uses this vulnerability to

Pilot My-Cast by
John
I am considering the my-cast service. Those of you that use it--what are
the pros and cons?
Is it reasonable to use it enroute or is it strictly a ground based tool?
Thanks for any relevant input.

What do YOU want for Xmas? by
Jay Honeck
As usual, that's the question I'm hearing from relatives. Also as usual, I
have no friggin' clue what to tell them -- I need nothing.
Therefore, it's time to open the topic up to the opinions of this newsgroup.
What do *you* want for Xmas this year? What's the latest, greatest,
coolest,...

trying to find aviation book by
Nobody
Recently I saw a special on The History Channel called "Dogfights". It
mentioned a book by Frederick C. "Boots" Blesse titled "No Guts, No Glory".
I have not been able to find this book for sale anywhere. Does anyone know
where I may find a copy of this book?
Thanks in advance.

Crash of UAL Flight 232 by
George
Just read a transcript of presentation giving by Capt. Al Haynes on "The Crash
of United Flight 232". He tells how he and the crew were able to "land" 232. It
was a motivation speech on how he and the crew were able to save 184 lives. The
first thing to strike me was "How did he do that?" The...

Bad medical examiner postcript by
Wiz
Friends:
You may have seen my earlier post about the issue with my AME's office
screwing up my student certificate. Well, he straightened it out, and
now I can't fly. Rather than editorialize, I will just lay out the
chronology and let you make your own judgments. It starts in 1965,
believe it...

Here's the story: we were flying American Airlines from St louis to RDU

through the flight I noticed a large shape outlined by lights, oriented
east to west. The lit outline looked like this.

Fly-By-Wire Flight Controls by
Charles Talleyrand
Suppose a smaller airplane with it's fly-by-wire controls goes runs out
of fuel. All the engines quit. On a larger jet a ram air turbine
would drop into the airstream and power the controls. How does it work
on smaller planes like the Dassault Falcon or the F-16?
Alternatively, I've always...

Aircraft Clipart by
RST Engineering
The Ground School is starting in March and I'm ginning up the flyer to post
hither and yon to get the class filled.
I've got some really bad clipart from the old DOS days of single engine
propeller style aircraft. Does anybody have a pointer to some decent
current clipart?

Pay flight tracking programs...rec wanted... by
Steve
I am looking at something not as expensive as Flight Explorer Pro, able
to track both general aviation tail numbers and airline flights.
Ideally, this will run 24 hours on a standalone computer, and if
possible, will allow different simultaneous log-ons.
Any recommendations are...
