Cost of major overhaul? by
Paul Millner
if he really got a new crankcase
He didn't say that... he just said it was replaced. Think "used by
airworthy". Still, a suspiciously low price, eh?

Need door handle for 1959 Cessna 175 by
Paul Millner
New from Cessna, that pot metal door handle is $250...
Some folks complained to Cessna about that, and they cut the price to under
$100.

Also, $50 / month (plus "activation" fee and equipment) is
ridiculously high. I'm sure a competitor will easily beat that soon.
Made me think twice about my current XM subscription.
It seems clear that...

Seems their customer relations could use a little help.

Question on ownership by
John
Seems to me an element of flexability would be required for this to
work, in addition to the money/piloting skills etc. If you can work
from home from time to time (telecommute), that will help you when the
aircraft goes down for maintainance. Also, what about thunderstorms
during the summer? ...

Cessna 150 Cruising by
Anony Mouse
I had a combined CHT/EGT installed recently.
A poster (MichaelR) suggested to go full throttle.
My advice: Don't do that.
Your CHT will be to high, you'll set yourself
up for frequent cylinder overhauls.
I take off full throttle and then throttle back
to 2600. The CHT will be around 380 F,...

Need some assistance from pilots in NW Arkansas, SW Missouri, and NE
Oklahoma. If you are flying around this area (Fayetteveille/Springdale),
listen, or if in contact with Razorback Approach, to 120.9. If you hear
a pinging sound in the radio (I hear it about every 57 seconds), send me
a message...

Future Turbine Aircraft by

Retrofitting diesels on existing airplanes doesn't make much sense in the
US, where the fuel cost differences between 100LL and Jet-A are relatively
small. However, using diesels on new airplanes makes a lot of sense. If
you look at the price of a Diamond plane in Europe, the diesel version...
