Ison Hi-Max by
Julie Goforth
Looking into getting plans for the Ison Aircarft Hi-max. Is there
anyone with experience on the Hi-Max. Also, does anyone have something
to add about the Zenoah G-50 engine?
Thanks for all the help,
Christopher Smith

Frantz oil filters by
Ray Toews
I found these remote filters which are a bypass type.
they seem to be the old toilet paper roll filters of years ago.
http://wefilterit.com/index.htm
Has anyone tried them?
They hook them to the oil pressure sender line and back to the oil
pan, is there enough flow there to make for usefull...

Might be the wrong group but a question about TERPS by
Frederick Wilson
Today there was a twin turbo-prop flying around (not traffic patterns)
Freeman Field, IN (SER). I was wondering if there is a set type of plane the
FAA uses to TERP the approaches. I do not think I've seen a plane like this
one.
For years they've had a few DC-3s setting out here, I thought it...

Type of wing carrythrough? by
Toks Desalu
What type of wing carrythrough most homebuilts used? Pros and Cons of
various types?
How exactly "wing box carrythrough" work within homebuilt?
Bending beam carrythrough seems to be the best choice, but what are the pros
and cons about this?
Strut brace types are out of question because of high...

LOM engines by
buckey
Anyone with any experience with LOM engines? I am considering the benefits
of a 170 HP LOM 332CE for use in a Mustang II which is rated for a
powerplant in the
O-320 to IO-360 range. LOM sounds like it might be "real airplane" without
the other-worldly prices commanded by Lycoming, Superior...

Can we talk about the Randolph problem? by
Michael Horowitz
Folks - Back in June I began trying to get products from Randolph
distributors. Heard stories of the factory relocating and problems
with HAZMAT licenses; I'm sympathetic to a point, but.....
About a month ago, when asking a distributor about when the new
Ceconite 101 manual would be out, and why...

funny by
Dan RatherNot
There's a show on NPR called Cartalk. 2 car mechanics supposedly giving
advice to callers but really it's just an excuse for them to goof around.
Hysterical. There's a segment about a guy wanting to put a Subaru engine in
an experiment plane. Scroll down to Mazda Miata with...

Warren.... by
John Ammeter
Some of you knew Warren and Nancy.
Warren was a regular at Pinckneyville as well as a good
friend to many of us.
I received an email from his wife, Nancy, today and would
like to share it with you.
Please, a prayer for his soul would be nice... He was a
good man, friend to many and my friend...

3.8 liter V6 Ford PSRU model year compatibility by
James W Brackett
I am currently running a 1986 v6 with a Northwest Aero PSRU.
I was wondering when or if Ford changed the bolt hole pattern
on bell housing. I have a 2001 mustang with the 3.8 and would
like to maybe step up to fuel injection and the balanced intake.

Oil Cooler for Auto-Conversions by
Bruce A. Frank
I have received several email from people building auto engines for
their projects. A problem has come up because of the unavailability of
the Modine "Donut" water-to-oil cooler. This is a very nice heat
exchanger that fits between the engine block and spin-on oil filter. It
uses the coolant water...

Nav antenna diplexers by
Paul Lee
Does anybody know if those things work? They split a nav antenna
signal into a VOR and glide slope unit? Is significant signal lost?

KX 170B/KX 170 by
JimM
I am planning to replace a working KX 170 Nav/Com with a KX 170B and
understand that it is not a simple slide-in job. Can someone tell me
what must be done to accomplish this change-out?

Children remember by
dave
This poem was sent to me by my all grown-up aspiring to be a writer
daughter. Hope you enjoy it....I did.
I jam the doorway of my father's 1500 sq. ft. shop he built.
It's bigger than my apartment in the city.
It has it's own air conditioner.
He spends hours in there,
curved over his...

I have been using free and public access to newsgroup for about a

So, I wanted to know what kind of access do you guys use, or recommend

My two year-old is corrupted by

So I am in the midst of building a master bedroom into my basement. Of
course the two year-old helps as much as he can. The other day I hear him
say, I got it Daddy. Turn to look to see him dragging an 8 foot 2x4 to me.
What a great kid.
Tonight I was working on minor things in the room while the...

Thinking of selling our O-320-E2D by
optics student
We have flown this 150hp low compression engine, which we got with
1850 SMOH out of a Cessna 172, for 15 years trouble free in our
Glasair. We had it overhauled about 8 years ago when it hit 2200
SMOH out of the Cessna and have since put on about 1000 hours since
that overhaul. The engine is about...

Off topic - Landing of a B-17 by

An interesting tale I ran across...
The Most Unbelievable Landing of a B-17 by George Ureke, Lt. Colonel, USAF

Flying a bombing mission out of Foggia, Italy, off of Tortorella US Army Air
Field in Italy, during W.W.ll, our B-17 caught one hell of a lot of flack.
All four engines were still...
