Saoring on The Weather Channel by
Steve Leonard[_2_]
Nice segment featuring Bruno Vassel about soaring and weather on The Weather Channel. Finally! They provide a segment of "Worthwhile entertainment!" For the first time in a long time, I have been happy to see them showing something other than real live, current weather information!
Thanks you...

Autonomous undersea gliders (no kidding!) by
son_of_flubber
These amazing vehicles really are undersea gliders.
Link to NyTimes article: http://nyti.ms/17Q0j7V
Quote from the article:
"There are several models of submersible research drones on the market, but the Gliderpalooza fleet consists of propellerless Slocum Gliders, designed by the Teledyne Webb...

FS: ZAON MRX (make offer) by
son_of_flubber
New condition. Used 2-3 times. Includes a nice manual. This came with the glider when I bought it and it is redundant in my stable of instruments.

Who can explain how Speed-OLC scores are computed? OLC website seems to have explanations of all scoring but for that particular category. Am I just not seeing it?

FS: PCAS Zaon MRX by
[email protected]
Folks, anybody want a Zaon MRX?, FYI, I am selling mine. $300 incl shipping.
email dbraun800 at gmail.com if interested.
Mine works great and reports the same as the PowerFlarm PCAS all season. Don't need both so that's why I am selling.

Gas lift struts for trailer question by
[email protected]
I have an old (1972?)semi-clamshell type trailer. When open, 4 gas struts hold the "lid" up. Two look like original equipment from Germany and two from an, apparently defunct, company (Colmar Gas Springs) in Pennsylvania. In cold weather the hatch won't stay open. Any idea as to how to determine...

Oudie IGC/V7 connectivity? by
[email protected]
Has anyone heard any information to confirm whether the Oudie IGC will be able to be powered and receive air data from an LX NAV V7 vario (I.e. function like the V7/Nano/Oudie 2 combination)?

Windmills vs. Birds of Prey by
Kevin Christner
In the name of almighty green energy, the government has issued a new ruling: "The newly finalized rule would grant 30-year permits allowing wind farms and other projects to accidentally kill federally protected eagles, provided they meet certain criteria."

Rear-view camera? by
Bob S
Has anyone tried using a rear view camera and display in their glider, similar to the automobile back-up cam/display system? Any comments? Should we or shouldn't we?
