This group may save the whole sport by fred
You people gave a very good response to my plea for help. So many people know how to help and share knowledge. It is not as if I am a newcommer, so maybe I should know it all. Surprise! I need help! As I read these posts, it is apparent that many lessons need to be taught again. Many new versions...

Rudder waggle by toad
Since the rudder waggle signal was brought up in another thread, I have a few thoughts and would like to get other opinions. I am a glider and tow pilot for my club, so I have thought these through from both ends. To start with, if the tow plane gives you a wave off signal, THERE IS TIME TO...

Santa Ynez Thanksgiving Weekend by dforrest
Anyone planning to fly at Santa Ynez in middle California this weekend or has before this time of year before? I am going to be vacationing in the area and was wondering if it's worth pulling the trailer along.

Batteries (again) - 2 Main Batts plus Tail Fin Batt wiring/switching by Neil Allison
Hi, Time to dust off a perennial topic ;) I looked through the archives and read Darryl Ramm's battery presentation. Not an exhaustive search but I didn't find an answer to my question. At present we have two (fused) 12V 7Ah "main batteries" connected to the Master switch via an SPDT...

I know there are electric powered sailplanes but by YouHelpBuild.com
How about 100% electric powered ultralights? What problems can anyone forsee to building a 100% electric ultralight aircraft for short & mid-range commuters to get back & forth to work (aside from air traffic issues... it IS a big sky after all)? I understand the average commute is less than 30...

Identifying the other guy by Steve Leonard
Sorry to hear you ran out of Crayons, JJ. My favorite mis-identification happend at a regionals at Lubbock. There was a somewhat frantic call over the radio 'Watch out, Zuni!!!' I was flying the only Zuni at the contest. Trouble was, my plane was on the grid and I was sitting in my crew...

Video Camera/ Recorder to Visually Record Glider Flights From PilotsViewpoint by [email protected]
Is anyone aware of miniature a cam-corder on the market that can be used to record up to 10 hours of flight as seen from the glider cockpit ? What I have in mind is a product like National Geographic's "Critter Cam". The recording unit could be placed somewhere in the glider connected by cable to...
