ASW20 and Discus in Club Class next year. by Nick Olson
Well IGC are letting in the ASW20 and Discus into Club Class next year, (and increasing the handicap on the Std. Cirrus at long last!). Which one should I buy - which is likely to be more competetive? or is there an alternative? I would like higher performance for non-competetive distance flying.

Tow Vehicle Woes by rlovinggood
The discussion on tow vehicles hits home. I have to replace the trusty Accord with something that has a beefier hitch attachment point. I've managed to rip the hitch off from the bottom of the trunk twice now. Car: 2000 Honda Accord V6 sedan, 201,000 miles. Trailer: 2006 Swan, with fiberglass...

Contribute To The OLC! by P. Corbett
People There are few entities that have added as much momentum to soaring than the OLC has. It is run by volunteers and I think we owe them our support so that it can continue. There is now a "Support the OLC" banner on the OLC /USA home page. Please do your part. Paul ZZ

Which Tow Vehicle by Bob C
Which vehicle to tow a glider trailer has been debated ad nauseum on RAS. I have always been a staunch supporter of towing with a full-size truck. After the events of last Thursday, I feel my position is vindicated. I was towing my sailplane westbound on Interstate 40 near Gallup, NM. I had...

Cautionary Tale: Logger Failures, Batteries, Backups, & GPS Altitude by Chip Bearden
My experience in troubleshooting everything from cars to soaring instruments is that a problem can usually be traced to one cause. Having two or even three simultaneous things go wrong at once is relatively less likely. Yet that's exactly what happened to me last week. On the first day at the...
