What could you do with this? twin engine PBY ultralight? (twin...

Long-EZ Bird Strike by
Ron Wanttaja
Pretty incredible story:
http://www.ez.org/birdstrike.htm
Long-EZ pilot at 9,500 feet hit a bird, which shattered his prop, and the broken
prop took off almost all of one winglet. Full aileron was only able to keep the
wings level above 110 knots. Landed safely...sounds like a damn fine...

Kitplanes Aero'Lectrics Schematics by
Netgeek
On the Kitplanes website there's a "pay-per-view" feature that
allows you to download individual articles from past issues - at
$7.50 a whack - but I figure "Okay - no waiting - cool"...
In my case I needed the September and November '04 Jim
Weir column so I can build his slick VOR tester. So I...

Long Easy Accident by
Wayne Paul
Does anyone have information about the Long Easy accident at Sunrise Sky
Park, Melba, Idaho, that killed Davey Jones? I believer the accident
occurred June 28th.
There was very little news coverage. All I have heard is that it was a
landing accident and that the passenger...

Oshkosh Airboss Frequencies by
David Odum
A few days ago someone asked about the Airboss frequencies at Oshkosh.
In Jim Weir's OshBound.zip file you'll find OshFreq05.pdf, which lists
many frequencies for Airventure including the Airboss frequencies. Go
to www.rstengineering.com, click on Oshkosh Bound and then click on
OshBound.zip. ...

Fuel selector or two check valves? by
Rob Turk
Instead of using a left/right fuel selector, could I use two check valves
and connect the two tanks into a single feed?
---|-----T-----|-----
Where | and | are the check valves and 'T' is a T-connector towards the
header tank.
The check valves prevent fuel moving from one tank to the other....

Parts for KX170B by
Gunny
Does anybody know a good place to locate parts for a KX170B?
Specifically, I need to replace at least three of the four switches
(com on/test and nav voice/ident). As I understand it, the newer radios
had a revised switch. I am fairly sure I have the older style radio,
but would use the new...

Seattle advice by

Hello,
My wife and I are spending five nights in Seattle between July 4th and July

basically have the 5th through the 8th as full days to explore. We have to
spend one day on the Olympic Penninsula (fond memories for my...

Loaner Radio by

I have a couple of radios that are excess to my current needs, but I really
don't want to sell them. It's the old "Why didn't I keep those around. Now
I've got to buy new ones" syndrome. Here's the list (all 12 volt only):
Microair 760 (760 COM)
Narco Com 11A (360 COM)

What about putting aluminum foil on your antenna? by
John Wier
Doesn't putting aluminum foil on your TV's antenna (rabbit ears) help
reception by catching more rays? So in a composite airplane, with the
antenna inside the fuselage, what about putting some foil on it to
catch radio rays better?

Idea For New Alexis Inn Suite by

Jay,
I was reading one of your posts and thought of another suite for the Inn.
How about a room honoring experimental-Amature Built Aircraft.
I have no doubt many of us have parts we could contribute.

Path of an airplane in a 1G roll by

Do we have any who is a math whiz here? I want to find a formula to
calculate the position of an airplane throughout a 1G roll. The reason
I'm doing this is so I can build a "roll track" for a remote control car
so the car will alway have a positive g force on it to keep it on the
track. Anyone...
