2104 Nephi UT OLC or what I did on my summer vacation by
Nick Kennedy
The 2014 Nephi OLC meet is now in the logbook. And what a great event this thing is. Bruno Vassel has this vision and he is making it happen, and what a great vision it is. The Great Basin has some of the best soaring conditions in the world and the best part is that if you live in the USA you can...

Instrument Tube Colors by
Romeo Delta
Is there a standard for pneumatic instrument tubing colors?
Best I can tell in my LS-4:
Green is TE
Red is Pitot
Blue is Static
Does this jive? Is there a standard?

LS-6A Questions by
Jerz Rossignol
Hey guys,
I am wondering if any of you know the size of the O-ring for the
ballast connection that comes out of the wing of a LS-6A?
Also, my front air vent keeps opening up just enough to create a very
loud whistle when I get the glider going faster than 100 knots. It
gets quite annoying to keep...

iPAQ logger problem (no G-record) by
Mike Yankee
Perhaps some knowledgeable person can help me with this. I recently
started using an iPAQ with GPS_LOG WinCE interfaced to a Garmin II.
Before flying with it, I did a test run over the hills in my car; it
logged the trip perfectly and the log included the G-record. I then
flew with it and it...

Microire bandwith by
Andy Durbin
I measured the bandwith of my Microire receiver. Test method was to
set the receiver squelch just above trip point then to sweep an rf
generator across the set frequency. The points at which squelch
tripped were recorded from the frequency counter built into the rf
generator. Results for the...

First hand information on A21 at San Geronimo, Texas by
James Romano
I am (was) the other owner of the Caproni that went
down at San Geronimo AirPark. I'd like to provide factual
information that may prevent some rumors that appear
to be floating around.
There were four of us that assembled the Caproni.
My partner in the aircraft, his business partner, and
my son....

LFO's (lightweight flying objects) by
bumper
Or what to do when the weather says, "no soaring".
For those who don't get out enough (no rude comments directed towards me,
please), you may not have heard of the following aviation related items (no
financial or other connections with this, but they sure is fun!):
"Air Hogs Havoc"...

How 'Not latest' is the L-Nav? 5.X? 4.X? Which model
of GPS Nav? 10, 20, 25? I am guessing a 10 or a 25,
as you say you have a GPS...

Photocromatic sunglasses by
5Z
In another thread, some folks mention flying with these "light
sensitive" glasses.
I have a pair, but find I must use clip-ons while driving, as the
glasses apparently react to UV, and the car's windows filter most of
it. I have also found that same effect, though a bit milder in the
sailplane. ...

Jantar (was Cirrus v ASW) by
Jono Richards
Jeff,
A Jantar is a fantastic machine, with good performance
for the price. Shame you cant use one with a 'normal'
canoy, but really and truly a split canopy is of no
hindrence what-so-ever. With regards to tipping over
- its probably the least of your worries if you are
landing in a field where...

Forthcoming BBC Radio program by
Martin Gregorie
Those of you who can (but don't) listen to BBC Radio 4 may be
interested to know that there's a program, "The White Stuff", on
Monday 17 May about clouds. It may be good, it may be terrible. Who
knows? But now you know about it.
