Superb soaring conditions on Saturday and Sunday, particularly in
southern Arizona, enabled a number of really good flights, including
what is possibly a new free-triangle World Class Glider record set by
Tucson Soaring Club's Mike Parker in his PW-5.
This 583 km flight was flown over some...

Cordele, Georgia, Report Monday 14 May 07 by
Ray Lovinggood
'If you liked the weather yesterday, you'll find today
different.' That's how the Southern Gentleman Weatherman,
Ray Galloway started off the morning briefing. Unlike
Saturday when we had nothing but smoke and Sunday when
we had typical mid spring weather, today we had cool
weather and low...

Cobra surge brakes on mountain grades. by
[email protected]
My new (to me) Ventus C came with a decidedly old Cobra trailer. When
I pulled the wheel drums (one was cracked) the surfaces resembled a
dirt road after the spring run-off. I replaced drums and brake shoes
and was back in business. My first towing adventure included the long
downgrade into...

summer -- perhaps longer than that. This is a paid position in the
best soaring in the world, and an instructor would work with beginning
students, additional ratings, and cross-country training. Come
instruct and fly in...

Flew Minden last Wednesday and turned Bishop in 2 hours flat (dry)!!!
Love that cruise'n at 16....had a 20 mile blue hole around Bishop, so

SUA files for GNII by
Tuno
I'm trying to set up GNII to test drive it next weekend but I'm
stalled by lack of SUA files. I've tried all three known
http://soaringweb.mirroname/SUA/NA/ sites, but the software and
datafile links are b0rken on all three (yes I've sent a note to JL).
If anyone has the software and/or southwest...

Grob Astir AD spar spigots by
toad
To anybody that owns a Grob single,
There is a new AD proposal working it's way through the FAA requiring
inspection and eventual replacement of the spar spigots. The FAA
thinks this will cost $840 for parts and 22 hours of shop time. Total
over $2000.

SeeYou Single Person License by
Jim Vincent
I was going to buy a copy of SeeYou from a friend since he uses Strepla for
his flight reviews. He contacted SeeYou, and they told him that the license
was specific to him only. My understanding of the US Uniform Commercial
Code does not allow for single user restraints down to a specific...

Cordele, Georgia, Report Friday 18 May 07 by
Ray Lovinggood
Are we in Georgia? South Georgia? In May? Last night,
I think the temperatures dropped to the low 50's or
high 40's and today, they rose to the mid 80's. Ahh,
very nice. And very nice for soaring, too.
The CD decided for some manly tasks today. The forecast
called for blue skies and windy. ...
