Accident report - PDA's can restrict emergency exit by
Ramy
http://tinyurl.com/yzfpzb
With the increase of use of gizmos in the cockpit I think it is worth
warning the fliying community of this potential deadly mistake,
especially with glare shield instalations of instruments such as TPAS.
I almost fell trap to it myself when considered wiring my glare...

Solid State Artificial Horizon by
nimbus
Dear Sir,
I read carefully the various posts on this newsgroup about the subject
(egyro-solid state gyro etc...).
In order to avoid heavy cabling, and minimising the available space (on
the instrument panel) and volume (behind the instrument panel), I am
slowly coming to 2 options:
Option 1 :...

Flaps/spoilers on which sailplanes? by
[email protected]
I have the SSA's "Directory of Sailplanes" from sometime in the
1970s(?), which is a great resource for finding the basics of certain
models of sailplanes, but I'm looking for something more detailed on
glidepath control. For example, if I want to find out if the Slingsby
Kestrel uses flaps or...

Winpilot for contest use? by
Frank
Hi,
After happily flying with my SN-10 for the last 5 or 6 years, I find
myself with a CAI 302/PDA system in my new glider. In preparation for
the upcoming racing season, I have been investigating PDA Nav software,
including GNII, SoarPilot, XCSoar, and just lately, WinPilot. I have
downloaded...

So far I have five movies on the list, with more to come. I know of the
following:

B-100 to Volkslogger connection by
Dan
I'm considering buying a used Borgelt B-100. I currently use a
Volkslogger and PDA with SeeYou Mobile.
Any comments in general regarding the B-100?
Will I get any additional functionality?
Anyone have experience with Volkslogger to Borgelt B-100?
Thanks,
Dan Rihn

Tax Exempt Clubs (USA) by
Fox Two
Our club is hoping to join the list of clubs in the USA who are
501(c)(3) tax exempt. My question is: why isn't the SSA a 501(c)(3)
organization, and why aren't all SSA clubs tax exempt? It would seem
to be an obvious way to grow revenues!
All club dues would be a tax write-off, and all...

South African Nationals - Day 1 by
[email protected]
The first day was also Day 1 - a good start!
With some 29% of the field from North of the Cliffs of Dover,a clear
British flavour is evident. Today's 14000' bases host a 4 hour AST for
the Open / 18Metre Class whilst the 15Metre / Standard and Club Classes
have 3 hours on the same geography.
The...

Alternatively colored 2007 SSA Convention Schedule by
Jeremy Zawodny
If, like me, you scratched you head while looking at the 2007 SSA
Convention schedule:
http://ssa.org/convention/schedule.asp
And if you found the alternating colors in the schedule make it *harder*
to find the breaks in session times, you might find my slightly tweaked
version...

SeeYou Mobile and CAI 302 Issues Resolved? by
Frank
Hi,
I've been lurking on the See You Mobile support forum as part of my
ongoing investigation into PDA software for competition soaring, and I
noticed some posts regarding problems with SYM == CAI 302
communication. Anyone out there flying with this combination know the
current status?
TIA,

Junior Team calendars by
[email protected]
Got my Junior Team Calendars. They look great! Every bit as good as
the SSA ones and no shots of a 2-33.
The are printed on quality paper, and I think a bit more artfully done
than the SSA ones, (just my opinion, but feel free to flame away.)
The most important thing about the Junior Team...

Turnpoint Exchange Web Site Highjacked? by
ContestID67
I just tried to go to John Leibacher's http://soaring.aerobatics.ws/
turn point exchange web site and all I get is some sort of bogus get
rich quick scheme.
What's up with that? John not pay his ISP bill? Let's hope that all
those files aren't toast.
