Instrument Flight Instruction by
steve
Recommendations please..I have finally moved forward and am going to
make an attempt to get my instrument ticket. I have contacted HAI in
Florida but they are backed up for several months. I don't mind going
out of state. I want to go - get it done and then come home. HAI did
seem more structured -...

private license and eventually going commercial. I'm a former flight
paramedic and wanted to get into the pilot seat, however the pilots I
work with have all received their training in the military so for...

Ground 350 run without blades? by
Sla#s
Has anyone ever run a AS 350 or 355 without the Main rotor blades fitted?
We do it all the time with our 315 but I've never heard of it with a
Squirrel / A Star.
It would make tail rotor balancing a lot easier for a start - i.e. no pilot
needed. That's what we do with our Lama and use to do with...

The Schwiezer crash in Texas by
Bart
Anybody hear what caused the engine out in that?
The video was pretty spectactular. The pilots were interviwed on TV, and
from my perspective the PIC did a pretty nice job given the amount of wires
he had to navigate around.

Vietnamese Homebuilt Chopper by
Vaughn Simon
HANOI, Vietnam (AP) - With directions from the Internet and an old Russian
truck motor, a Vietnamese farmer fulfilled his dream of making his own
helicopter. The job took two friends, seven years and $30,000.
Now, military officials say he can't fly it, because he didn't get approval
to build it,...

Musings of a Commercial Helicopter Pilot by
Badwater Bill
I wrote this on May 8,2002 and posted it on the rotorcraft group. I
just got an email this morning from a helicopter pilot who thinks he
wrote it. It was changed a bit, but essentially the same. Here it
is.

I think I'm about to retire from flying helicopters. It was fun for
