Spain chooses Euro by
Jordi Usó
There has been some noise in the media about Spanish military finally
choosing Eurocopter as their attack helo of choice instead of Apache.
The reason the most quoted for this was that Tiger could easily operate
in Ceuta and Melilla while based in mainland Spain, which Apache couldn't

[AU] Light plane sparked terror alert by
David Bromage
The RAAF came close to sending a fully armed fighter jet to shoot down a
light plane during last year's Commonwealth Heads Of Government Meeting.
The light plane was detected flying towards restricted air space around
the conference venue. Air Commodore Dave Pietsch said a fully armed
F/A-18 Hornet...

THE DAY THE 344TH STOPPED PATTON by
ArtKramr
The Day the 344th Stopped Patton
Patton treasured the German autobahns. To him they were high speed highways
where he could charge forward at full tilt, covering miles of territory,
sweeping enemy forces in his path. But Patton never took A.A. Robinson into
account. A.A. Robinson, Lt. Robinson...

LOUD by
Scott Lowrey
I reside about 6 miles off the departure end of MSP runway 12, so I'm
used to hearing a lot of jet traffic. I've only lived here for 6
months but I quickly adjusted to the noise. It's acutally not that
bad, excepting the venerable DC-9.
Today, though, what looked like an F-18 flew over. Wow. I...

I've seen a lot of them but this is easily one of the most impressive
IMO.

trying to shoot down the first with the second or they have two going

ECM & Aerodynamics by
Steven D. Litvintchouk
What does all that external ECM that they keep adding on to older
aircraft do to their aerodynamics? I look at a B-52 with its EVS
turrets sticking out of its nose and all those ECM antennas and other
crap sticking out of its fuselage. Or an F-111 "Wild Weasel" with that
pod high on its...

Heres' the bill by

Expensive isn't it? At the peak of the Viet-Nam war the cost was $90
billion per year. That was just to blow stuff up. Now thats really
expensive. One of our major political parties wants to pass a health
care bill that starts at an estimasted $400 billion per year. And you

When Thunder Rolled by

I happened to be conversing (actually, e-conversing) with Smithsonian

It was published only in March. Two years is more like it, and most
