Antenna Installation on Longez by
Glennbob
I want to install a foil antenna for the VOR receiver. I'd like to
install the antenna ( foreswept " V " ) either on the underside of
the Canard wing or the main wing. My question is, after I solder
the foil to the two wires, how do I get the torroids and coax back to
the fuselage to run to...

Steel prep for two part epoxy? by
Michael Horowitz
I have yet to decide what epoxy to use on my steel fuselage, so I have
no literature on how to prep the metal.
Part of my decision making is _where_ to do the work. If I have to use
MEK or like solvent, I don't want to do the work in a semi-enclosed
area; if a dry wipe-down or alchol is...

High compresstion in O-320 by
pittss1c
Has anyone here done or considered 10:1 pistons for an E-series O-320.
I have read the articles on how an E series differs from the others, but
I am not sure that this closes the door on the subject.
For example, if one was mostly interested in takeoff power or power at
altitude...
I am sure it...

Manovering Speed by
N114RW
Can someone ‘splain this to me? I have no idea if I have it right, or not.
As I understand it, maneuvering speed is the speed above which the
aircraft may be damaged due to full control movements. Below that
speed, the plane will stall before damage occurs. I also understand
that maximum...

military experience by
who cares?
One of my kids is enlisting in the military. She is requesting training as an
aviation mechanic.
Does anybody know if the schooling and experience in the military would have
any value when attempting to get an A&P certificate from the FAA?
Thanks

Something wrong here, Top Gun greatest movie for EAA? by
Bugs66
http://www.airventure.org/2007/news/070503_movie.html
Something is very wrong when the cheesy movie Top Gun wins over 12
O'clock High, Waldo Pepper, and Spirit of St. Louis. It shouldn't
even be on the list among the other great movies. I think the vote
was rigged!
In my opinion Top Gun is one...

Rutan Rontz Plywood Flyer by
John Kunkel
Somewhere in my aged memory cells I seem to recall a story about Burt Rutan
and John Rontz collaberating to mount an engine on a sheet of plywood and
tether "flying" it to illustrate that anything will fly with the correct
AOA. I'm not finding any references on the search engines, truth or myth?

Oshkosh Housing ... Hell Of a Deal by
RST Engineering
After 33 years in the hot sweaty UW-O dorms, Gail and I decided to venture
far afield to see what was available in the area.
One of our brethren in this ng emailed me about a very nice Bed'n'Breakfast
he found in Waupaca. I checked it out and it seemed like a hell of a deal.

CHT probes by
flybynightkarmarepair
How deep is the hole a "bayonet" type CHT probe fits into?
I don't like the spark plug senders, and want to drill the cast-in
boss for a CHT sender to suit the probes commonly available, but
without a probe in hand, I can't tell whether this is possible.
Anybody who can answer this question...
