Aluminum Prop Dings by
canflyboy
Hi All
I'm repainting my McCauley Aluminium prop and was wondering if anyone can
give me some guidance in regards to the little aluminums dings that occurred
on the back side of the tip on the prop. These are tiny dings the prop has
picked up over the years from sucking up debris while taxing. ...

Pretensioning cables by
Gig 601Xl Builder
Anyone have a good method for pretensioning cables. There has been some
issues of late with 601Xl control cables getting loose after the first
few flights.
I'm looking for info on ways to pretension 1/8" galvanized cables that
are tensioned between 22 and 40 lbs.

UV Smooth Prime by

OK the rumors about UVSP have me paranoid now. I know some folks have had
nightmarish problems with this product but I am hopeing that there are some
success stories out there as well as it is still on the market. I have been
using UVSP on my project during the build and now extensively during...

Attn Spam Can drivers: Need MS FlightSim reality check... by
wright1902glider
If anyone out there will admit to driving a C-172, I have a question.
In MS FlightSim 2003, Rod the VR flight instructor tells me that I
should be controlling my altitude with the throtle, and my airspeed
with the elevator? Does that make sense?
In Microsoftland, I've got to constantly play with...

Thermal Divider by
RST Engineering \(jw\)
I have a thermometer that reads from 0 to 200°F. I'm trying to measure a
cylinder head on an aircooled engine where my range of interest goes from,
say, 200 to 400°F. The classic way of measuring this temperature is with a
thermocouple mounted on a copper washer underneath the spark plug of...

seeking first hand Jabiru 3300 opinions by
Russell Duffy
Greetings,
The subject pretty much says it all. I'm looking to hear from those who are
flying a 3300 Jabiru engine. I've heard that there were some problems in
the early days, but I was told that since about 2002, the engines have been
working very well, with no problems. Can anyone confirm or...

Beta Prop by
Rob Fonhof
Hi All.
Just wondering if there are any props out there that can be used on an
experimental aircraft engine, ie:subaru or RX-8 Renesis, which have a beta
range. Don't even want to consider a certified unit as this would probably
cost more than the rest of the firewall forward components.
Thanks in...

75 Year hangar lease by
Kent Ashton
RAHers
Representative Steve Pearce (R-NM) introduced a bill in March (HR1117)
to require that federally-assisted airports grant a 75 year lease to a
person willing to construct a hangar on the airport. Current federal law
states that the lease must be a "long-term" lease but doesn't specify...

Fuel Flow instrument by
Billc851
has anyone considered trying a marine fuel flow instrument in home built.
http://www.navman.com/marine/products/fuel/fuel2100/index.html
I was considering the EI-fp-5 but at $750 it a bit pricy for my budget.. The
marine unit does the same thing for $150
Any thoughts?

oil leak question by
Dick
My Continental 85 is leaking oil and appears to be from pushrod tubes and
valve covers. It is on an experimental plane.
While I can cure the one leaking valve cover, the pushrod tubes have those
heavy "wirecircles with two tangs" over the rubber end fittings. Some tubes
are leaking at bottom and...

He's trying to track down some tracing...

The following is to the best of my recollection. I haven't even
changed the name of a buddy I was with during these events. I may be
wrong about some of the statistics, like the number of divorces and
number of hot babes in the restaurants, but I'm close. Almost none of
this is an exageration...

the fire barrier? .16 stainless or .16 2024 T-3 with a layer of 1/8in.
fiberfrax sandwiched between the aluminum & the plywood? I'd like to go with
the aluminum because of weight if it & the fiberfrax are an...

Here's the Recompiled List of 82 Aircraft Accessible Aviation Museums! by

"taxi-up" accessible using a G.A. plane? I don't want folks (like me!) who
are unfamiliar...

the most valuable and most used tool. I can just hope that my life will...
