New strategy in fighting AL-Queda by
Leadfoot
Actually it's not that new. Remember in Vietnam we'd send a company out
into the jungle as bait so the NVA/VC would attack it and then we'd whack
the NVA/VC with artillery and airpower? Producing the counter-stratefy
"Grab the enemy by the belt buckle".
Well now the strategy is to put an...

building reproduction aircraft by

This thought was brought on by the thread on legality of owning
ex-military intercontinental aircraft. If someone had more money than
intelligence (the lottery jackpot is 150 million tonight) - what would
be the impact of making a B-36, B-47, or B-52 similar to the way the
Me-262's were reverse...

B29 - "Necessary Evil" by
Matt Tauber
George Marquardt died on 8/15. Marquardt was the pilot of "Necessary Evil",
the B29 that photographed the Hiroshima blast.
Does anyone know if "Necessary Evil" still exists...or other planes from the
509th? I know "Bockscar" is at the WPAFB museum, and "Enola Gay" is safely
in storage where no...

Whatever happened to "Ivan the Bear"? by
Bill Burns
I used to enjoy reading his Russian aviation articles, and always looked for
his postings but I have not seen them for many months. Everytime I log onto
this group, I sort the messages by "From" to look for his postings.
Anyone know where he went or maybe he's changed his "From" name and I've
never...

Dynamic stalling of delta wing a/c (wrt MiG 21) by

Hello,
I was reading on the net that the MiG-21 is a high demand no-nonsense
a/c, and tends to lose control (without the warning buffets as
experienced bu other a/c)
quite easily (during high speed turns??). Is this a MiG-21 phenom, or
do other Delta wing aircraft also have such inhernt control...
