What Ever Happened? Cadillac Commercial Accident by JohnDeRosa
Thinking back on the dreadful Cadillac commercial glider accident in October of 2011, I wondered if the final NTSB report was ever released. It hasn't and still shows as "preliminary" 8 months later. http://www.ntsb.gov/aviationquery/brief.aspx?ev_id=20111013X31821&key=1 Is 8 months typical for...

So as not to help hijack the Butterfly/V7 thread... Does anyone have comments on the ClearNav vario? I'm looking for better wind info than my LNav gives.

LS1c-d performance by csonka istvan
The IGC HC of LS1c-d is 3 points lower than the LS1f (0.98-1.01). Why is this differnece? The wings are the same, as I know. Does somebody has any experiences with LS1c-d performance, compared to LS1f, Std. Cirrus or ASW15? (Assuming more or less the same wingload).

Can "old people" to learn to fly gliders? by son_of_flubber
Sure, a lot "senior citizens" fly gliders. But how many of them soloed at 55? It's apparently much easier to learn to fly at 16, but a new student aged 55 is more likely to have the time and funds to commit to the sport and stay with it. That late middle aged guy/gal is more likely to step into...

Flarm Audio and Towplanes by Bob Gibbons[_2_]
Question: How have Flarm users around the world handled the lack of audio intercom output in the standard Flarm unit when installed in towplanes? Is the simple visual LED output on the Flarm display adequate, or have you had to add auxiliary audio intercom capability to the Flarm for your...

Wayteq 950 by cfinn
Some programs such as LK8000 can do this. In setup you select the primary and secondary GPS sources. If the signal is lost from the primary, the secondary is automatically selected. It periodically checks availability of the primary. When/if it returns, it will automatically be selected. I don't...
