A-4 / A-7 Question by
Tank Fixer
In article ,
says...
It almost sounds like the 30mm Caseless Pods that can be mounted under
Fighters making even an A-4 into a tank killer. That died when the A-7
did. Too bad. The A-7E was a superior AC to the A-10 when armed...

Sea Harrier FA2 - a modern-day F6D Missileer? by

Below is quote from a Royal Navy Sea Harrier FA2 pilot in an article in
the International Air Power Review vol. 16.
"Our tactics are based around the capabilities of our jet. For
instance, we do not like to go into the visual arena. We much prefer
engaging our targets from long range and that is...

How do carrier-based planes find the ship after a mission ? by
Al Dykes
As an armchair admiral, I've always wondered how A/C in WWII knew how
to find the carrier after being away for a couple hours on a mission.
I assume the pilots were told, roughly, where the carrier plans to be,
but sh*t happens. I always assume the carrier doesn't broadcast any
radio signals.
How...

John S. Shinal
Thanks, Errol and Guy.
News reports last night featured the Admiral in charge
speaking about the relief flights and mentioned 30 helos operating
already, but didn't say if they were flying off of ABRAHAM LINCOLN or
BON HOMME RICHARD - I'll assume the numbers are at least correct...

GWB's piloting fun.... by
David E. Powell
http://www.drudgereport.com/rcmu.htm
Excerpt:
On the way to his infamous landing on an aircraft carrier, Bush toyed with
his Secret Service agent by intentionally shaking the plane from side to
side and then nosing downward so sharply they lifted out of their seats.

Stupid helmet question by
Greasy Rider© @invalid.com
I was browsing a newsgroup just now and saw a gentleman flying a P-51
Mustang with what appears to be just a common ball cap. I got to
wondering if he is that secure in his abilities and crash worthiness
of the air frame to simply wear a ball cap?
As a motorcyclist I feel very strange if I'm not...
