SN10 support by
HL Falbaum[_2_]
Just wanted to praise excellent support for my SN10 problem. Paul Remde and
Dave Nadler got right on it and 12 emails back and forth and less than 12 hr
(including overnight) the problem was solved!
I don't want to go into detail much, but with back and forth
troubleshooting, the problem was...

If any of you out there are members of the Yahoo LAK-17 egroup, could
you post a message to that group to see if there is a current moderator
If there is, ask if they have a spam filter catching new requests to

Mark Wilson
I have a Russia AC-4C glider (with a retractable main gear), and need
new inner-tubes. The sizes(47 x 110 for the tail wheel and 310 x135
for the main) are not available. Does anyone know of an alternate?

iPAQ-310-LK8000-wind calculation by
Brad[_2_]
I have my HP-24 set up with the iPAQ 310 and it is running the latest
LK8000 software, since the aircraft hasn't flown yet I am curious to
know if anyone out there is using this combination and what they have
noticed regarding the wind calculation function (not the true wind
feature).
I am using...

Sailplane Wind Indicator by
Carl6703[_2_]
I saw a picture of a sailplane mounted on a pylon being used as a wind
indicator. At the time I didn't pay much attention but now I'm
interested and can't find the image. Does anybody have a lead for me
on where such an image is? Thanks.

Jet sailplane formation by
airshowbob[_2_]
Here is a link to photos from yesterday morning's jet sailplane
formation flight (the formation photos begin about halfway down the
page). This could be the first time ever that two jet sailplanes have
been in formation together. Definitely a milestone. That's Bill Hill
in the BonusJet and me in...

RAS Qualified Instructor by
Tony[_5_]
Well I brought the Cherokee down to Littlefield, TX on Saturday hoping
for some good soaring. Ended up making it 2/3 around a 200 mile
triangle and most significantly got a 10,700 ft gain so my Gold Badge
should be complete after a little paperwork. Guess I'm alright to
start flying in the back...

Adding vents to Smiley bags by
JS
Wondering if there's a recommended vendor to add vents to non-vented
Smiley bags (AS-W27). I can't get all the air out of these bags with
the usual foot pump. The factory bags were vented and held more water
but look fragile and already leak.
Alternatively, parts and procedures for...

Performance airspeeds for gliders? by
GARY BOGGS
There used to be a great, animated web site that explained speed to
fly theory using little 1-26s, but I can't find it any more. Can
anybody tell me where it has gone?
Thanks

Spot 2 : OK interrupts tracking. by
Eric Greenwell
If you put it back in Track mode, does that cancel the remaining

I usually notice 30 min delay until spot switches back to tracking.
You can alway press the track button again yourself to expedite.

First AS-W20 Gathering, Tehachapi, CA by

I believe there are over a dozen AS-W20s on the field today, and met
two owners who didn't bring theirs.
Dan Rihn gave a presentation on the 20 and it's brethren this morning,
to the 20 group and ESA Western Workshop attendees. Paul Gaines will
discuss performance mods tomorrow.

Newpaper Article, Fayetteville, North Carolina by
rlovinggood
The Fayetteville Observer (Fayetteville, NC, aka "FayetteNam" due to
home of Fort Bragg) recently sent a journalist out to our club for a
glider flight.
I think the story is well written, as are the captions for the
photographs.
However, two little items could use some "splaining."
1. One pilot...

(Australia) L-13 Blanik Llewllyn Mod dwg by
mike malis
Does anyone in OZ have a copy of the dwg or STC that makes an L-13
into an L-13A1 with a 12000 hr life?
It is hard copy from the 70's, I am hoping someone will scan it in and
post it somewhere.
Dwg is called 78-E-1, invoked per AU STC 96.1

Volunteers with the Soaring Society of America have been closely

resulted in what amounts to a virtual grounding of the L-13 fleet in
the United States.
The good...
