Weird Windshear by
Bravo8500
I thought this was interesting so I'll share it. I hit some unusual
windshear I suppose last night going into St. Simmon's Island, GA
(BQK) in an A36 Bonanza. Here we were, me flying and the non-pilot
owner (my brother-in-law) in the right seat cruising at 3000 over the
top of a broken layer about...

Jose
What is it like arriving and departing Lakeland during Sun 'n' Fun? I
will probably be in the area and would be interested in dropping in for
an afteroon or a day or two. What kind of arrival and departure delays
can I expect? What's parking like?

WI airport closure by
Jay Honeck
The village of Grantsburg, WI is considering closing their public
municipal
airport.
Does Grantsburg have a local AOPA rep? If not, someone there needs to
step up to the plate and become one. AOPA has a lot of clout that can
be brought to bear on Federal, State and local officials in these...

Where in Seattle? by
Jay Honeck
Okay, so we're stuck flying the executive mailing tube to Seattle in
May, to attend my nephew's wedding. I just don't have time to fly
Atlas all the way, and I can't risk being held up by weather.
For all you Washingtonians, where is the best "suites-type" of hotel to
stay? I won't have a lot of...

A Scary Prospect -- What to do? by
Jay Honeck
Mary and I have tried very hard to treat flying as an uncommon -- but
perfectly normal -- family activity, and that's all my kids have ever known.
My 14-year-old son has 13 hours in his logbook, and can climb, descend and
hold altitude, track a heading, determine the proper runway to land on,...
