Old Cambridge GPS Nav by Ross[_3_]
Powered up an old Cambridge GPS Nav today and the LCD Display gives me the warning to check the LCD Cable. Having done this, made a new cable etc, I have still got no solution to the problem. Any suggestions other than the rubbish bin? :) Cheers

New Glider Dream Elon Musk Flow by Jonathan St. Cloud
Was so tried of the hard deck discussion thought I would try a discussion of dreams. After seeing the vision of Elon Musk with his Falcon Heavy, I had to pinch myself. Those two boosters landing in sync.. What are some of the innovative, new technology, original thought, scifi dreams, would you...

Hard Deck by Jim White[_3_]
Time to change the subject line? I have been thinking about the hard deck idea. Possibly fine in flat land soaring but I am not sure it adds much when ridge flying. I perceive another problem: Turbos are even more dangerous near the ground than pure gliders. I may be happy in my 27 at 500ft but...

Mini LAK by [email protected]
Does anyone have any experience, knowledge or opinion on the headwind penetration capabilities of the Mini-LAK without the FES. The manufacture advertises a 45/1 L/D with very light 13.5 meter wings. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Proper Way to Insert Multi-Probe by Dan Marotta
When I got my Stemme, I asked my instructor if there was a proper technique to insert the multi-probe in the nose.Â* He said to just push it in until I hear/feel a metallic click.Â* That's worked just fine for the past two years but I wonder if I should lubricate the thing, say with Vaseline or...

Rolladen- Schneider LS3A flap seals- Do they really make anydifference? by Dan Marotta
Oh...Â* Flap to fuselage wiper seal.Â* I thought you were talking about the flap to wing seal.Â* I made those for my Mosquito decades ago from material pulled from the trash cans in the hardware engineering lab where I worked at the time.Â* I don't know the thickness of that stuff.Â* It was...

LX S80 or ERA 80? by Matt Herron Jr.
looking for a nice electronic vario/flight computer. I have used a V7 in the past and liked it. Anyone want to share an opinion about the LX Nav S80 vs the LX Navigation ERA 80? I have flarm core, so I don't need the GPS. I also use an Oldie II, so the moving map features are less interesting...

Engine braking in Arcus M - can we have the system from the V3? by waremark
I find the automatic engine braking in my Arcus M disappointing. While my prop sometimes gets starts going down the on the first rotation after switch off, quite often it doesn't. If it misses twice, on the third time I try to use the manual prop brake, but that's difficult to do when flying (and...

2018 - AN EXCITING YEAR by [email protected]
You may not be aware of the new sailplanes being publicly released this year. 1. From Poland comes the news release of the Diana 3. It is an 18 metre ship with a conventional spar - unlike the Diana 2 which is sparless. The 'Three' is a real 'looker.' 2. The new Diana 2 has been worked on and...
