Juan Jiménez
Looking for two seats on single or twin bound for OSH, one for myself and
one for my 12 yr old son, would prefer to ride with someone who will be
there the entire week, willing to share gas expense and piloting duties,
PPL, single or multi, taildragger endorsed, high perf and complex,...

Charter Quest Team? by
Juan Jimenez
Has anyone here heard of something called the "Charter Quest Team" from the
FAA? Does anyone know who runs it? What FARs, AC or other document regulate
its activities?

Testing spray pattern on turbine injectors by
Juan Jimenez
I'm in the middle of cleaning the injectors of the engine on my BD-5J, and I
was wondering if someone here has dealt with this issue before...
I need to test spray pattern. The engine has 8 injectors. I know I can set
up a rig where I pump fuel into the injectors, and perhaps use a piece of...

UK planning to evict N-registered aircraft by
Juan Jimenez
The reason is that the bureaucracy and incompetents feel threatened by the
trend. It is my opinion that people go the N-registered route so as not to
have to deal with the bozos who have gone so far as to tell UK pilots what
airplanes they are skilled enough to fly, and that they are doing it...

TRT-250 manual by
Juan Jimenez
I have an old TRT-250 transponder maintenance manual, for the ORIGINAL
analog TRT-250 (not the 250D digital version). This transponder is no longer
supported by Free Flight Systems and I suspect few shops take them in for
repair, as some of the parts are simply not available (most importantly,...

KR-20 manual by
Juan Jimenez
For those of you who may find a need for this (which probably won't be too
many of you), I put my copy of a KR-20 marker beacon receiver install and op
manual (with pinouts, that's why I put it up), on the site. You can download
a small PDF file at http://www.bd5.com/kr-20.pdf

Any W&B calculators that work in 640x480 on HP4700 PDA? by
Juan Jimenez
Why not do one yourself? If it's an HP4700 it runs Windows for PDA's and
should support both Java and .NET. I can send you some code to get started,
at one point I was doing a clone of the one Sporty's sells (the handheld
dedicated one with the terrible screen). I don't have time to deal with...

Turbine air start -- too cold? by
Juan Jimenez
The engine on my homebuilt aircraft is a small French turbine, a Microturbo
022 Couguar (one version behind the TRS-18-046). It starts using good ol'
air impingement, which the manual specs out to 145 psi, 1.21 lbs volume.
Now, I always had problems motoring the engine to a high enough RPM where...

Balloon-assisted jumping by
JumpingMan
Some friends of mine are obsessed with the idea of buying weather

probably about -3 to -5 lbs of net lift) and jumping up into the air.

cost of such an...
