FATALITY IN SO. CAL. by Vorsanger1
The Los Angeles Times of 09/14/09 reported a glider fatality out of Elsinore, CA on Sunday 09/13/09. There were few details except the name / age of the pilot, and the fact that he was on tow and crashed "about 400 ft off the runway". Does anyone know the circumstances ? No cheers, Charles.

I just noticed this article in the NY times: http://travel.nytimes.com/2009/09/18/travel/escapes/18hang.html?hpw When I saw this title I thought, great, an article about soaring. Finally some large scale publicity via a reputable paper. But no, the article is about hang gliding. Now, I have...

US Airspace Info Update -- Not! by 2KA
There were no changes in US Airspace definitions in the NASR charting cycle effective August 23, so I didn't bother sending an update to the Worldwide Turnpoint Exchange. Updated airport information is, however, now available at my website at www.xmission.com/~lalley/aviation. Airport...

Suction cup mounts by Ed Winchester[_2_]
As I mentioned in a different thread, I use a PNA with XCSoar in the cockpit. I have been mounting this with one of Paul Remde's big suction cup mounts, and it has worked fine, only rarely coming loose in flight (as long as I lick around the edge when applying it). But that's been in thermal...

XCSoar "H Baro" info box by Uncle Fuzzy
I can't get XCSoar to display Baro altitude. The info box will display, but the baro altitude always shows 0. I'm pretty sure the Cambridge 302 is putting pressure altitude out in the NMEA stream. I haven't had much luck with the XCSoar Nabble forum lately. TIA Jim
