Cable tracker--WIRING by
Jerry Wass
Good evening/year
a couple of years ago, I polled this site for a wire marking code, and
got a couple of replies---one said his was ond but he thought it was
used by Piper-I think the other feller said his was military, but old.
Anayway, I'm gonna get some sticky back label stock,
print up all...

Sport Aviation Magazines...Free by
Dale Thompson
Sport Aviation Magazines....Free, if you pick them up. I live near San
Francisco. Or, if you pay postage, I will ship.
This is a broken collection. I have 100 magazines between 1992 and 2004.

Does anybody know "R.S.Hoover"? by
expresstechonsite
I've run across some GREAT posts by R.S.Hoover (Veeduber I think) but
can't find a 'profile' and I'm wondering if anyone knows if he has a
website, profile or anything where I can find more from him or how I
might contact him with comments?

Space Homebuilts by
Ron Wanttaja
It's an age-old story.
A man gets disgusted with commercially-produced aircraft. They've been out of
production too long, parts aren't available, and he's looking for a hobby to
distract him from some world-size problems.
So, heck, he decides to build his *own* plane. His neighbors laugh, but...

Pickled Engine by
[email protected]
To All:
I'm not too sure why this topic gets raised every year about this
time. Even if you're snowed in you should be able to get out to the
airport once a month or so to fire-up the Dream Machine and let her
warm up. (Here in
Sandy Eggo we don't have that problem.)
But a couple of messages on...

Landing Light bulbs by
Jerry Wass
Why does the diameter of the reflector have so much effect on the
output-(candlepower)--of bulbs having the same power input?? i.e.
#4509-PAR-36 4.45"Ø 110,000cp
#4537-PAR-46 5.70"Ø 200,000cp
And then we have the newer import cars using 2.5" reflectors (+ a
condensing lens of similar...

What is this? by
Steve Hix
I was looking through videos covering Airventure 2007, and in one on
ultralights saw something interesting.
It's a low-wing taildragger, looks to be all-metal, landing around 11
seconds into the video...

Could it be???? by
Rich S.
Would this BD-5 be associated with a certain scrivener known to all here?
http://www.acf.clara.net/scale/scale-pics-2/low-wing/bede-DB5A/bede.html
It seems to have only a left wing and the registration number (letters)
strike a chord.
Naw, couldn't be.

Equal Power (not!) by
[email protected]
To All:
When two identical engines are turning at the same rpm it does NOT mean
they are producing the same amount of power. It is the LOAD on the
engine that determines how much power is being produced at a particular
rpm, not the rpm itself.
For an automobile engine converted for flight the...

Rooms are AIR CONDITIONED in this dorm only.
UW-OSH dorms are two miles from the field. Shuttle buses, which run
frequently, pick up near to the dorm site.
I'm using one of the beds. Other bed (and possible air mattress on floor) is

Estimate for painting a rag airplane. by
Bob Johnstone
Hi,
I've been offered a Champ which has been recovered. I'm not sure of the
system, but it's the one where the rags are a red color. The fuselage and
tail has been done to clear and the wings are white. I'll have to get it
done by an A&P due to time/geographical constraints, so my question is,...

Could we use a pager to turn on a preheater? Could it be as simple as
tapping into the vibrate circuit to turn on a latching relay?

Had not heard of that. I'll give it a try, next time I am looking at the

Flighttech intercom? by
Rob Turk
Can anyone share their experience with the Flighttech ITC402 or ITC2003
intercoms, especially how they compare to other small intercoms like the
PM501? The noise reduction technology sound interesting, but how does it
perform in real life?
