The black rubber tailskid (the one with the embedded rollerblade wheel) on my LS6 has come loose - after the last landing when I noticed grass stuck between the boom and the skid, I was able to simply pull off the skid - undamaged as far as I can tell. Looking for suggestions on what bonding agent...

New House Thermal by [email protected]
The Treasure Coast Soaring Club will soon have a new house thermal. Florida Power And Light is in the process of building a 400 acre solar power plant within 3/4 mile from our airport. Heat from this type of farm should make for a great house thermal. Anyone out there with experience flying over...

The Cobra "Ramp Grind" - a fix by bumper[_4_]
New "bumper" product announcement: The ramp sliders on my 2002 Cobra trailer were metal on metal, bolt threads gouged the extruded aluminum floor rails and there was metal on metal wear.. Some later trailers have plastic washers, but those don't last or work well either. I made plastic sliders for...

thermal wave by firsys
Yesterday, close to my home field, after I had given up( 2500 ft cloudbase) I noticed lennie like clouds lining up across the light NW wind. I have flown thermal wave often in the past, but nothing in the last ten years. Missed this one but probably too weak to use. These systems can difficult to...

Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems for Trailers by AS

CAI Model 20 to OLC? by Steve Leonard[_2_]
Yeah, I know I should "buy a new logger". But, I fly old sailplanes. :-) Anyone had success uploading a file from a Model 20 and getting a valid score? I am 0 for 3. The first two, I wrote off to too few satellites a couple of times during the flight. Didn't have that issue today, but still a...

Anyone get hassled for exceeding max car and trailer length? by Gordon Boettger
Looking at getting an RV (25' length). Combine that with a doubleseater glider trailer and I'm at 60'. I'm in NV, so I'm good, but going into OR I would be 10" over the legal limit. Anyone out there run into any issues with the "fuzz" for exceeding combined vehicle and trailer length? Thanks
