Flying with Parachutes by John Huthmaker
I'm just starting out with soaring. Simple question for you guys. How many of you fly with an emergency parachute? It looks like they cost around $2000 online. Pretty steep price; although the cost is insignificant if it saves your life. Is this something I should be looking to purchase?

What magic do the JS3 and Ventus 3 have that the ASG-29 Does not? by Bojack J4
After the definitive spanking these two new models gave to the previously dominant ASG-29, there has to be a superiority. So, what is it? (And yes, the pilot matters...but look at the results in 18m Worlds competition)

Cobra trailer brake heating up by Eric Greenwell[_4_]
I adjusted the brakes on my Cobra trailer according to the directions from Cobra. On the first test drive, the right brake drum got very hot in a few miles (about 240 deg F); the left brake drum got up to about 125 deg F. Neither drum seems to be dragging when I jack up the wheel and spin it. I...

FREE CHECKRIDES at Marfa, Texas 2017-2018 by Burt Compton - Marfa Gliders, west Texas
Another "Rusty Pilot" has polished up their skills with me at Marfa. Like polishing the tarnish off of your mother's silverware, the renewed shine is worth the effort. Because it was there all along.

Top Hat Question (XCSoar?) by [email protected]
I like Top Hat a lot. But as with an attractive woman who seems to fulfill all your wishes, things aren't quite perfect. And like most men, I just want to make one tiny change. It's driving me crazy. :) I need two screens: Circling screen: automatically displayed when I started to circle. Zoomed...

Anybody out there familiar with the B4 canopy to frame attachment method? We have a "new to us" B4 in our club, and the canopy has become detached from the aluminum frame along the right side. It appears to have been glued in place. A previous B4 we owned had the canopy attached to the rails by...
