Garrett Rescu/88 ELT Wanted by Mike Spera
ELT will activate but will not turn off. This unit is not available at the various boneyards. Anyone have a working unit for sale? I HATE the thought of spending any time in the tail to mount a different type and tearing apart the interior panels to run new wires for the...

Gasahol Update by RST Engineering
Taken directly from the EAA website www.eaa.org and then to the autogas STC page: In the opinion of EAA, and in the interest of most conservative operations, the following observations are offered: a.. If alcohol content is less than 1%, fuel will probably have no effect on aircraft.

Gascolator by Jonathan Goodish
Has anyone used the Steve's Aircraft FAA-PMA gascolator STC on a Cherokee? I am curious as to whether it is worth the trouble of changing the stock gascolator to get rid of the whole bail wire fiasco. Not sure how the drain valve would work, might have to use some fittings. JKG

GDC31 by Mike Granby
Anyone have any experience of this device? It's a roll steer unit that will couple many GPS units to many autopilots, getting over the Garmin/STEC requirements for this technology. I'm thinking of putting one in my Saratoga, and wondered if anyone had fitted one to their birds, or if they'd used...

gear-up landing video on CNN by [email protected]
Right now on www.cnn.com they have posted a short news video of a gear-up King Air landing. Apparently, the local media got word of the impending problem and was on hand to record the (non) event. -Elliott Drucker

Geeky GPS question (PCI card, possibly off-topic) by Tina Marie
I have an old Airmap 5000. It stores the data on a PCI card that slides into the unit. My database is now 3 years old. Lowrance stopped providing data about 4 years ago, and a year ago Jeppson dropped support. A web search didn't reveal anybody else selling databases. Now, that data is on the...

GEL-GLOSS cleaner? by John Doe
Has anyone had any experience with GEL-GLOSS cleaner on their plane? I think they sell it at Lowe's and some other stores. Some guy during the standard rainy afternoon hangar talk said he uses it on his plane and it works great as a cleaner and is much cheaper than aviation cleaner. Any thoughts...

GEM 1200 Problem by Jim Kaufeld
Our Seneca has a GEM 1200 - it was installed during an avionics upgrade about 2 years ago. Up until now it has worked fine BUT ..... I'm hoping someone out there has fixed a similar problem or has some insight (no pun intended -:) into what the problem might be. Anyway, the GEM has an...

GEM-610 data download info needed by [email protected]
Hi all, I just installed a GEM-610 in my airplane and it works great. Is there a way to download/configure the unit without the suggested HP 200LX handheld computer? I've tried a Toshiba laptop with no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks

Gemini CH260 by Tony
Anyone know about this little 2 place twin. I would love to try and talk my Dad into buying a kit. It looks as if it will be the cheapest twin ever. 2 place side by side. 2 80hp motors. 3 1/2 gph, and a total of 7 gph. Looks like it will be the cheapest what to build Multi time. Put one of these on...

Genealogy of Piper Aircraft by Mike Granby
Our FBO has a poster on the wall entitled "A Genealogy of Piper Aircraft" or something similar. It shows the various lines of aircraft (PA-28, PA-32 etc) and the various models in that line. I've been trying to find a copy without success. While a quick trip to the color photocopies with the FBO's...

General purpose cleaner/degreaser? by Jim Burns
What do you use on your plane's exterior as a general purpose spray cleaner/degreaser for quick and easy cleaning of greasy finger prints and oil drips, drops, and spots? I don't want to use anything that will hurt the paint, aluminum, or rubber. Thanks again, Jim ---
