Central Sierra Helicopter Meet by Stuart & Kathryn Fields
If you were there, you know what I mean. If you weren't there, I'm sorry. The first annual, they are already planning for the next year, Central Sierra Helicopter Meet was a resounding success. 13 helicopters showed. Schweitzers, Bell 47, Baby Belle, Ultrasports, Helicycle, a Scorpion II and both...

UH=1 by Brien
The rear transmission support on a UH-1, is this one support mostly for the twisting action of translational lift ? Or is it more of a vibration or shock unit. As it is only held in by (8) -3 bolts it hard to think of any real support.

Golden West Fly-In by Stuart & Kathryn Fields
The Golden West Fly-In is coming up June 8-11 at Marysville CA. It should be a good one as they have gone out of their way to solicit rotorcraft participation. Gyros and Helicopters will be welcomed and supported. As the Rotorcraft Chairman I am available for information and details. -- Stuart...

Turbine to RC transition by B4RT
Some friends bought me a really spiffy coaxial RC helicopter for my birthday. Holy canoli these things are a stinkin blast! A little humbling at first too, it took me a while to figure out the trim hickamajobs, and flying one without it being trimmed is damn near impossible. I crashed pretty...

Helicycle Insurance by sjmadden
Can you get liability insurance for the Helicycle? If so, how much would it run in ballpark figures. What do you do with your Helicycle. Do you fly over 100 miles in it or do you just fly within a short area. I am interested in the helicopter, but one seat and limited range make me think twice. ...

Bell OH-58 changing categories experimental to restricted by Jaybird737
I am considering buying a Bell OH-58 for aerial application. Most OH-58's I have seen for sale are currently in the experimental category. How would I go about getting it placed in the restricted category?

balancing act by Stuart & Kathryn Fields
Here's one for the pros: I was balancing my tail rotor and had it down to 0.27 ips and still had just a touch too much weight where I had added it. So still needing to safety wire a bolt that is located in the center of the tail rotor output shaft, I chose to safety it to a hole 180 degrees from...

Anyone here flying a Little Wing gyro? by [email protected]
Greetings, I just purchased plans for the Little Wing, and am trying to get an idea of how many of them are flying. I really like the idea of a tractor configuration, but there just aren't many of them around. Thanks, Rusty

I'm back up in west central Minnesota for the season. Looks good and plenty of work with nice big clean fields to spray. Helicopter just came out of a 1200 with new engine/trans/blades and misc other high speed parts. What a great way to finish out over 40 years of crop dusting/spraying. I find the...

Hot hot hot up here in Alberta. Lots of fires, lots of planes in the air. As the subject says.... 3 bell 206 helicopters have crashed within the past few days, and 2 pilots have been killed. Speculation has been made that high temps on the ground have made take off and flying difficult..... and...
