Helicopter crash in Iraq is fourth in two weeks by
Brien
The military is trying to determine "whether or not this is just
statistically what's going to happen over time when you're flying at that
level and people are shooting at you, or if there are some kind of new
tactics and techniques that we need to adjust to," he said.

Fifth U.S. chopper in 18 days goes down by
Brien
Four U.S. helicopters -- three military and one civilian -- were shot down
in Iraq between January 20 and Friday, raising concerns that insurgents are
becoming more proficient at downing the aircraft. Sixteen U.S. troops were
killed in the three military chopper crashes.

Hey, these guys are just down the road but I'd never heard of them.
The stuff they claim to be working on looks incredible.
Anyone ever heard of these guys? The owner is a former politician in
NZ - not exactlly a ringing endorsement!

looking for a R22 9-hole panel P/N B051-5 by
Helipro
Hi,
we are desperately looking for a R22 9-hole panel. Last year, Robinson
had that assembly still on its price list.
Now it disappeared from the list and one can only order a replacement -
thus having to return the old one first.
If anybody can sell us one, please tell us. We buy used, new,...

Hughes 269B by
Brien
I would like to know what the cost per hour to operate a Hughes 269 might
be. Only the operation cost not insurance or hangar or inspection. The time
life items and gas and oil only operation cost ?

I know almost nothing on helicopters... by
Externet
Hi. First post here.
Always got it in my head, decided to ask today...
What if the body of a helicopter was built shaped with some tilt, as a
"sail" or with a vertical controllable aileron by its bottom, or both;
in such way that the downstream air flow from the main rotor caused the
same...

Dumb ass by
Ol Shy & Bashful
With any luck the clown who keeps posting his garbage re;Belfort will
fall off a cliff or something and quit taking up all the room around
here. Have seen his venom spewing on quite a few groups and wish he'd
get the message we don't collectively care a whole lot.
For the most part I ignore his...

fixed wing or rotary wing? by
Craig Campbell
I am about to start my private pilot helicopter course. I have been told
that learning fixed wing first makes it much easier.
I am not sure what to do as my heart was set on rotary but I want to do it
right first time.
Can anyone please give me feedback on this?
Thanks
Craig Campbell

Genuine? Helicopter post by
Ol Shy & Bashful
Got to watch a V-22 Osprey doing touch and goes today at KBFM. What a
fun hour of watching that amazing machine making the transition from
hover to forward flight and back again. Wish to hell I could get some
stick time in that one before I hang up my licenses in the next year
or two.
Wish to hell...
