Wing Extensions by
Jay
Seems like it might be useful to have removable wing extensions for an
experimental. There are times when you want a fast airplane for cross
country and you can stand a long runway for the high TO/landing speeds
and then there are other times you want the low speed handling for
short field, etc. ...

Surface radiators for water cooled engines by
Harry Burns
Intercoolers of the same config. were used on early model P-38's. They ducted
pressurized air along the insides of the leading edges, then into the carb.
They all had problems with cooling efficency and leaks.
Several famous Thompson Trophy (sea/float planes) winners used surface
radiators to...

ALTRAK pitch system flight report by
optics student
I installed the ALTRAK standalone pitch axis autopilot made by TruTrak
Flight Systems in our Glasair 1.
This augments the already installed STEC 30 roll axis autopilot. Making up
the wire harness that connects
the servo to the computer to the aircraft instrument panel is
straightforward and took 2...

I Wanna Build an Aeroplane by
Badwater Bill
Yep. My wife and I decided that we want to build us an aeroplane.
What we want is something that has 6 seats for the kids. It has to go
250 miles in an hour and only burn 6 gallons an hour. It has to be
cool looking, have wheels that fold up, go through clouds and bad
weather and be capbable of...

There is a free online ham radio course being offered and sponsored by RST
Engineering. It is intended to take anybody with an interest in getting a
ham radio license...

Powered Parachute Plans by
MJC
A friend of mine has a power chute made by one of the most respected
companies around. Still, he's crashed it 3 times now.
If a well designed power chute is a handful, maybe you might want to
reconsider making your own from scratch.
Those things look innocent, but they _can_ bite you.

Hot weather and autogas? by

Hi Troop..........
The weather forecast for Idaho today is staggering! 107° F in Boise, 108° in
Twin Falls and 110° in Mountain Home. Montana is similar with 108° forecast
in Helena.
Last year, on my way to OSH, I planned my fuel stops to take advantage of
