Argus 5000CE question by
Francois Marquis
Hello,
Has anyone have first hand experience with both the Argus 5000 and Argus
5000ce. I know a lot of users have transitioned to the CE, but
functionality-wise they are about the same. (minus the color, of course)
My biggest issue is that I sometime deplore the contrast of my 5000
unit,...

What do the letters A&P/IA stand for exactly? I know it's the mechanic
but I'm researching a documentary film and looking for the full name.
Thank you,

FAR Reference - Self Fueling by
Ben Smith
I was just reading both the land lease, and hangar keeper agreements for the
now City owned Morey Airport. (C29), and they both state:
"The Lessee further agrees not to transport, or cause to be transported,
onto airport premises, gasoline or other flammable fluids for the purpose of
self-fueling...

Accident db? by
[email protected]
When a title search is done, the company often offeres to provide a
history of accidents in which the a/c was involved.
Googling for 'FAA Accidents" I see what appears to be a wide range of
choices.
Anyone know which db contains the information showing what accidents a
specific a/c may have been...

High Voltage Light On (Temporarily) by
three-eight-hotel
I recently took a flight that brought me back in the late evening
hours, and in a hurry, I was a little remiss in my checklist of
securing the plane after shutdown. Landing light, taxi light, strobes,
beacon, nav lights and transponder were all left on, but the master was
shut off.
A few days...

Prop Cable - Replacement Needed by
zatatime
Hi,
I own a 1967 Cherokee 235B and am in need of a prop cable. Does
anyone know where I might be able to find a PMA'd new one, or a
salvage company that may have one? I've tried Aircraft Spruce, and
McFarlands and neither have a PMA'd cable for early Pipers as well as
a couple salvage company's...

T-34's Grounded by
Juan Jimenez
The FAA has just issued an emergency AD that appears to ground _all_ Beech
T-34 aircraft, all models, until further notice, after confirming that the
Texas Air Aces T-34 that went down a few days ago suffered a wing
separation. It only allows a few hours of flight under very strict
restrictions to...

Warrior Strobe Tube Replacement by
Jerry Malin
Gang:
One of the wingtip strobes on our 1982 Warrior II looks like it is going
bad. Half of it looks black and it only gives one blink per second while the
other wing gives two blinks per second.
I was perusing the Whelen catalog, and our strobe lamp assembly appears to
have a pigtail terminating...

Carb Rebuild -- Suggestions for where to go by
zatatime
I need to get my carb rebuilt. It's a Marvel MA4-5 off an O-540.
Somehow it floods to the point of not running (longer story possibly
in another post). I'd like to find out why this is happening so that
besides just getting an overhaul I actually know it won't flood again.
I don't care if it...

Anyone Add your A&P after getting the PPL? by

I was thinking about getting my A&P license to help me become a better

I was curious to hear about your story. For example, have you found it
helpful as an owner and/or pilot? Did it take a long time to obtain? What

Taking the plunge into ownership. by
Wayne
Well, today I put a deposit on an airplane! It's a 1961 C-175B with an
upgrade to an O360 with a constant speed prop. What a sweet plane, always
hangared with 2268TT. I only will own 1/3 of it, but the other two partners
only flew 200 hours in the last three years total. Can't wait to take her
out....

High time Bo A36 anyone? by
Matt Whiting
I'm wondering if anyone here owns a Bonanza A36 (or any Bo with a
similar wing structure) with high airframe time (10,000 hours)?
I ask because my local A&P who rebuilds a lot of wrecked airplanes knows
of an A36 that had a nose gear collapse and has been collecting dust in
a hangar for the...

Twisted pair wire by
Chad Lemmen
Does anyone know where I can get shielded, twisted pair, digital data
wire that meets or exceeds MIL-W-27500? This is for data connections
between a KDR-510 datalink receiver and a KMD-550 MFD. Aircraft Spruce
does not have this, but they do have paired shielded wire,
it's just not twisted.
