Private Pilot Exam Prep Course by
Captkev
I'm looking for the best course to prepare for the private pilot
written exam. Can anyone recommend a course that helped them pass the
test? Does anyone have experience with the 'King School' DVD's?
Please advise.

My First Solo X-Country by
CareBear
My first solo xc flight plan was from 3A1 VUZ TCL and back to 3A1. It
was a little windy, about 5-6 knots at times. The flight went as planned.
I departed 3A1 about 11:00am. After passing the VUZ VOR, I headed to
Tuscaloosa. It was a pleasant trip. When I arrived at TCL I had to...

What Used Plane For First Time Purchase? by
CareBear
All:
I am still pondering whether to buy an airplane or continue renting.
Renting presents a few problems: availability being the main one. I
mentioned in a previous post that there was an opportunity to buy a 1980
Beech Sundowner but since then the owner decided not to sell (thanks B A R R

Got My Ticket today!!!! by
CareBear
After an additional 5.5 hours practicing forward slips to a landing and soft
field landings, I got my ticket today. I will admit it is exciting to
finally get your ticket checking to see if it's truly mine, yep, has my
name on it.
Now that the "pressure" is off, I plan to just fly and...

Almost got My Ticket Yesterday by
CareBear
First of all I have not posted/asked any questions of RAP and RAS since last
November. With all of the bickering, baiting, and other issues, I decided
not to participate. Please don't misinterpret what I am saying. I am not
pointing fingers or complaining about anyone in particular since...

My Third Solo X-Country by
CareBear
Well I did another xc solo today. The flight was from 3A1 (Cullman, AL) to
CTJ (Carrollton, GA), to BHM (Birmingham, AL) and back to 3A1.
The leg to CTJ was kinda long (70 minutes) but it was relaxing. Flying to
BHM from CTJ was rather interesting. The sun was shining bright right at
me. ...

My Second Solo X-Country by
CareBear
Well, I did my second solo xc today. I went from 3A1 (Cullman, AL) to RMG
(Rome, GA), then to CHA (Chattanooga, TN), and back to 3A1.
I was supposed to depart at 8:00am CDT but had to wait until the ceilings
changed for the better. So I did not leave until 11:30am CDT. I had asked
my CFI if...

Lowrance Airmap 600c GPS by
CareBear
Are there any good tips, cheat sheets, etc. for using the 600c? I have just
got one (as a gift) and interested in its aviation functionality. Yes, I
have "glanced" through the manual. Any pros or cons to this unit? Any help
is appreciated.
By the way, I did my solo xc last week. It went...

New to the Newsgroup by
CareBear
I've been lurking here since May of this year and thought I'd go ahead and
announce myself. I started flying in May and am now on my third dual xc.
Flying has always been a dream of mine and I decided to "make it happen"
since I'm getting much older (55, I don't plan on becoming a career...

New airline pilot course by
Carl
It seems that the University in Newcastle in Austyralia is not any longer
offering an aviation degree. Apparently it is not what industry needs.
However, they seem to start something new. Some ATPL course which even
complies with the new European licencing rules and it seems they now will do
a full...

a pilot taking Methyltrexate and Folic acid for Psoriatic Arthritis have any

Flight Schools in UK? by

I have the opportunity to spend some time in England in the next few weeks,

Anyone know of any flight schools in the vicinity of Preston, Huntingdon,

Thought I'd occupy my time in a constructive way and see a bit more of the

Logging Time Consistently - Hobbs AND Tach by
Carl Orton
I, like most (assuming) started logging their flight hours based on Hobbs
time.
I recently purchased a plane that does not have a Hobbs, but does have a
digitial count-up timer. For consistency with my previous logged time, is
there any issue of logging via the timer time as opposed to using the...
