Talk me out of this... by
Paul Folbrecht
Me: 7x hour recently licenced PP-SEL.
Plane: '79 C152 being sold by my FBO for $19,200. TT is around 8000 (I
think), SMOH is 2050. Annual just done. This looks like an Ok deal to
me when comparing to like models, but the clincher is that they are
throwing in one year of hangering as well. That...

BBS??? Weekly Chat??? Anybody up for it??? by
Jim Weir
Hey, gang...
Well, the Avionics BBS over on Yahoo was a spectacular failure. We had five
posts in six months and we just let the board go away. There was a problem,
though, that even as the administrator I found getting TO the board to be a
royal pain in the tush.
However, I get 8-10 posts a...

Where can I get a POH for a 1977 Cessna U206G? by
carlos
Can anyone recommend a place where I could order a POH online? My 206 is
lacking a POH and I'm tired of arguing with the previous owner over its
whereabouts. I'd rather just go online and order a new copy.
Thanks for any leads.

Personal N-number? by
Steve
Does anyone have the FAA link and/or know the process, cost, etc
involved for obtaining a personalized N-number.
For example, maybe I want N172SS for my Cessna 172 and my name Steve
Smith.
thanks

lease back financing 5, 10, 20 years by
R.Hubbell
Calling all owners that leaseback a plane to a club or FBO or ??
I have found that financers offer different loans depending on
the who uses the plane. For a club they want 10 years or less
but for private they will finance up to 20 years. Maybe I just need
to keep looking. I don't quite...

Airworthiness Cert Still Valid? by
Carl Orton
OK; I posted a few months ago about how a plane I was interested in was
"de-registered" a short time after it was repossessed by the bank. (we've
already speculated on whether there was malicious intent or not, so let's
not go into HOW it got de-registered.)
Anyway, it went out of annual. We could...

Strange compass behavior by
me
Help, can someone help explain these compass symptoms? I know that the
compass should be about the most reliable piece of equipment in the plane,
but ours is acting strange.
We have a Precision PAI-700 vertical card compass mounted in a 1966 Cessna
182. We’ve swung the compass on the ground with...

Want to hear from lifter spalling victims by
Roger Long
I am looking into the possibility that a large number of substandard quality
valve lifters were introduced into the supply pipeline in the late 90's. If
you have experienced lifter spalling at mid TBO or before, I would like to
talk to you. I am particularly interested in cases where there are...
