0200A Higher Compression Cylinders? by Boelkowj
One of these days I will need to do a "top end" and wondering if higher compression cylinders would be a way to go. That way I would feel more comfortable using 100LL since my source of 80 octane is no longer available here. Would I also expect a little more horse power? Thanks Larry

I'm looking for a oil dipstick ..long neck 5 qt. I have a short neck one which bothers me as it is "off" 1 qt. I know I can fix it but an original would be better. The oil sump (dip stick not included) was changed out some time ago hence the problem with the long neck switch from the short neck....

1 Fatal ...r.a.h or r.a.p? by Montblack
I sometimes cut-n-paste crash victim's names into Google.groups.rec.aviation to see if that person has ever posted here. Too ghoulish? One person's name, about 6 years ago, came up. IIRC, his family was in the plane. With the spate of recent crashes it got me wondering, again: People here...

1 watt and 5 watt LED for Nav lights? by Bill
To Jim Weir and Group I am interested in using the new (to me) 1 watt and 5 watt LEDs for nav lights. Not having to worry about changing bulbs or the power requirements are very attractive. I have seen some posts about leds but would like to tie it all together. I know of two sites showing their...

1.8" solid state disk for Tablet PC, NO altitude limits by [email protected]
This is the first 1.8" SSD that I have seen with a female IDE connector (properly called micro-ATA). It is used in The popular Fujitsu 1600 tablet, some other notebooks / tablets, and even some iPods. Pilots can replace their hard disks with this solid state disk to prevent crashes (no pun...

1/2 place flex seating configuration by Jay
Trading off tandem vs side by side seating I came upon an idea I wanted to run by the group. The mission my aircraft needs to perform is mostly a single place weekend out and back kind of mission, with an occasional 2 person XC trip. I'd been homing on the tandem seat config because I like the...

Hi all... was sketching out a plane this weekend (just for kicks, nutin serious, just playing with numbers for the fun of it)... And no matter how I sliced it, I kept coming up with needing 35 to 40 hp and a 4 cycle at that....well, the only thing I know of that fits that bill without a lot of...
