Carying *stuff* as Sun n' Fun by
Roger Halstead
I've never had the opportunity to make Sun n' Fun yet. I was
one of the convention Chairmen at Oshkosh.. er... AirVenture for some
years in the Homebuilders area.
I always take my cameras. Between the cameras, lenses,
tripod, and other accessories it has always taken a backpack to get
the stuff...

castellated socket by
Stuart & Kathryn Fields
My search for a castellated socket ended in a friend made one for me using a
piece of heavy drive shaft tubing. It worked fine. I will be adding a
3-Jaw chuck to my rotary table for future work like this.

Casting Aluminum question by
Morgans[_2_]
OK, so there has been a lot of talk around here, about casting aluminum for
VW heads. It was here that I first learned that you can not use iron
crucibles for melting aluminum.
So, what if you need to cast a little job for something that does not to be
a pure aluminum part, for a non-aircraft...

Casting Four Individual VW Heads by
[email protected]
To All:
It appears that personalities and other factors overwhelmed the
subject that I thought it best to start anew.
One of those other factors is my physical condition -- more
specifically, the amount of pain I have to deal with and the
limitations placed on me by the physicians, such as...

casting intricate finned heads by
Stealth Pilot[_2_]
veedubber rapping greensand involves gently tapping the mould all
around as you will know.
if you are casting something box like all you get is a slightly larger
mould cavity and a mould which will pull out of the greensand.
cooling shrinkage of the casting will hide most of this.

CBS News- Small Airport Security 1/14 Wed by
RDA
Dan Rather/ CBS Evening News is advertising a sensational news story about
small airport security, or, as the advertisement implies, the serious lack
of it.
Typical tag line: "What we found out will surprise you!"
Ok...prepare to be surprised...and gutted...and vivisectioned...only as the
media...

Cell Phone in small plane by
Ron
Will a cell phone work from the air in a small plane?
Is it legal? If not, by what authority?
Some of the newer headsets have the ability to accept a cell phone
plug so one can talk through the headset.
Adapters are available for cell phone to headset interface
(www.flightcell.com). What is this?
