Flight in severe Sink/Wave by
Shaber CJ
About 18 months ago there was a couple week period with many shark sightings
off the Southern Califonia coast. During this time I was flying a helicopter
south along the Coast line just North of Santa Barbara. I was on the lee side
of the coastal mountain range, which at this time was an off shore...

5th flight - No joy. by
Steve R.
That's one of the things I've "always" hated about preflight inspections.
No matter how thorough I thought I was, I always felt there was something
I'd missed. It's a learning process, Kevin, there will be things that slip
by you. For now, that's what the instructor is for. Later, whether...

Get a load of this guys.
Well I finally confronted Silver State about the fact that we had a

class of 45 students and only one helicopter. I'm 3 months into the
course,
have flown a total of 4.2 hours dual instruction in a R-22 and have
7.3
hours in the...

If you think the recent requirement by TSA to have CFI's register, and
to develop a database at your private expense, with threat of a
$10,000 fine if you don't comply, better keep your eyes open for the
even more sinister legislation for the national identity card with
HR10 and S2774.

Instructor with spikes by
Hennie Roets
Kevin's first solo made me think of my first solo in the heli back in 1997
I have been flying fix wing aircraft since 1980 and to go solo was not
unknown to me.
I was doing training on an Enstrom at the time and was doing quite well at
the time.
All the instruction was done by one instructor so...

Helter Skelter by

The most important article you have ever read
"THE BEATLES CAUSED THE DISINTEGRATION OF MANKIND”
The Rock revolution happened in the Sixties (6, number of the Beast). It
came from Liverpool, which was the port base to the Titanic, destroyed by
God because of the arrogant insult of Captain Smith...

Great Name! Strange request...
I have heard of the need for a she-pee, especially in the context of a
light aircraft some distance from landing. A heavy aircraft would be one

Which GPS? by
steve
Am looking to purchase a GPS. As this is the ROTORCRAFT forum I don't
need to say (but I will) that the gps must be easy to see, easy to
operate (1 handed?) and light weight (in case strapped to kneeboard).
I have been looking at the Garmin GPSmap 196. It has a black and white
screen not the color....
