Mid-Air Collisions by
JJ Sinclair
What's with all the mid-air's? We have gone for years without this destructive
monster rearing its ugly head .Now, I count 7 KIA in the last few months. Are
we watching our electronic goodies too much? I try to look up (out) every 10
seconds. Very easy to get engrossed in all the wizardty and to...

Real stall speed of Discus CS by
Hans Hallder
Hi,
i just made my first flights with my new glider: Discus CS.
I've never flown a Discus before.
One thing i recognized was the hight stall speed.
I wonder if this could be normal, so i'm interested in your
experiences with this ship.
I flew the glider without water.

Anyone Need Glider Transported by
Jeff Landfield
I am available to transport gliders and trailers. I am out of school
in three weeks and I have a vehicle of my own to use if needed. I have
towed trailers for thousands of miles with no problems. I am available
to go anywhere to do the pick up, just to know I am out of
Albuquerque. If interested...

Take-upReels on Towplanes by
Nyal Williams
This subject has come up once again in our club. You might have
answered this question for me a year ago, but I have lost the info and
I want to quote someone's facts and figures. What is the downside,
other than cost, in using such a device?

Sailplane Hangar Doors by
TOM RENT
Anyone have any information on 52 foot-wide hangar doors for individual
glider hangars? I know about the various Bifold types, but looking for ones
only 8 foot tall or so, rolling, hanging, or swing style. Not much out there
on small hangars for gliders other than the Ensign design.
Our desire is...

Donald J. Goode by
Steve
Looking for Donald J. Goode. He built a BG-12BD in the late 60's
early 70's and lived in Harlingen, Texas. Anyone know where he is now
and what about that BG? Any information would be appreciated!

Soaring vs Indoor Karting. by
plasticguy
Ok Guys. This is a spinoff of the entertainment thread.....
Indoor Karting is an economically viable business if you can fill the seats.
The usual race at the center I ran was $15 for 12 minutes of track time.
We figured 3 minutes to load the karts with the next race group. This gave
us

Soaring Presence at Oshkosh by
nafod40
I'm still amazed that soaring has such a minute role at Oshkosh. If it
flies, it needs to be there. And not just some booth stuck over in an
exhibition hangar between other booths for t-shirts and nav bags.
I was able to sit in the Apis last year (thanks for bringing it) and
drooled over the...

I am looking for some help with loading my Garmin 89 with the

My problem is that my Dell Inspiron 2650 laptop seems to think
the GPS (which I have to connect via a USB com-port bridge) is a mouse
