A-10 in WWII?? by Stephen Harding
We've had a couple scenarios of aircraft going back in time and speculation on what sort of effect they'd have. I just saw a show on the A-10 Warthog with a top speed of 420 mph. That's WWII fighter speeds (although I'm not certain at what altitude). Since an A-10 can carry something like 16,000...

If you are looking for a fight... by ArtKramr
There has been some talk of men who wanted combat but due to "timing" or "luck" they missed out. Well if you are in a unit that won't get into the fight, just try this. Go to your CO and say," Sir, I hear the 344th is moving out to the ETO. I want to go with them. Here is my transfer request....

Were the Tuskeegee Airmen Wrong? by Stephen Harding
Saw the Tuskeegee Airmen movie earlier this week where intermission had discussions with a couple fellows who were members of the real thing. Quite interesting. However, they mentioned the oft repeated accolade that they never lost a bomber to enemy fighters that they escorted. One reason,...

Enough said by ArtKramr
An officer in the U.S. naval Reserve was attending a conference that included admirals from both the U.S. Navy and the French Navy. At a cocktail reception, he found himself in a small group that included personnel from both navies. The French Admiral started complaining that whereas Europeans...

I have an utterly stupid question. What is the difference between these two fighters? From a distance, they look exactly the same.

hi alt oxygen by Arquebus257WeaMag
Im just wondering why pure oxygen is used for high altitude flying instead of regular air. I thought prolonged exposures to breathing pure oxygen can be harmfull as you can become oxygen dependant.

What are Boeing's plans? by David Lednicer
Here is an interesting question: the USAF KC-767 deal was supposed to keep the 767 line open, but this deal is dormant. If the USAF doesn't act soon, they won't be able to buy 767s as the line closes real soon. With this in mind; how are they going to buy E-10s (767-400ERs) if the line is closed?

Should We Bomb Syria and Iran? by Kenneth Williams
President Bush said that in addition to striking terorists directly that the US would also target those who harbor terrorists. 2D thrust vectoring for the F-35A and F-35C? by Henry J Cobb
After only six attempts I finally got Global Security to fix the B vs C confusion on their Joint Strike Fighter page. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/aircraft/f-35.htm But the pic they picked to show the three variants raises a question. Will the F-35A and F-35C have 2D thrust...
