Robinson R22 SB-95, 337 or not? by
Eric D
Anyone complying with Service Bulletin SB-95 outside of Robinson's, did
you need a 337 form or not? I believe one is needed, however, I would
like to know what others are doing.

Rocks Thrown at Border Patrol Chopper
Aug 25 3:31 PM US/Eastern
YUMA, Ariz.
Illegal immigrants threw rocks at a Border Patrol helicopter,
forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing when one of the rocks
damaged the rotor, the agency said.
Neither the pilot nor the Border Patrol observer was...

Hi! I am trying to help my friend find crankshaft gear and the adapter
plate for the Rotax 532 reduction drive. He just bought the following
of e-bay:

rotor balance by
Stuart & Kathryn Fields
Interesting balance job. New Safari and initial balance run. Blades rough
tracked at 300 rpm and a balance run made skids on concrete. Added some
washers using the "Add Opposite" rule but not much change and phase angle
stayed pretty much the same. For an interest, put the helicopter up on...

Rotor Balancing by
Stuart & Kathryn Fields
I just had a strange one. I have been balancing my rotor system using a DSS
balancer where I would get the ips and phase angle measurements, turn the
rotor to the angle with respect to the photo cell described by the phase
angle information, then sight over the velocimeter and add weight to the...

Can you throw off the lead-lag if you "stomp the brakes"

Rotor Emergencies by
Ol Shy & Bashful
Ever had an actual one? This board is so freakin dead and boring I
left months ago. This is another attempt to revive it.
Any takers?
I've had several actual in flight emergencies in helicopters worldwide
(in addition to the phyxed wing side) and survived them all.
how about yor stories?

Rotor IFR by
Ol Shy & Bashful
Someone posted a note on rec.aviation.piloting asking about rotor IFR
minimums to which I responded. How many here are rotor IFR rated? I
got my rating back in the 80's and the CFII/R in 1990?

Rotor lift coefficient by
devi
I have been trying to model rotor wake using vortex methods, I am
confused regarding the lift coefficient, should the value of the lift
coefficient obtained after computing the lift using the bound vortex
strength of the blade be the same as the sectional lift coefficient of
the airfoil?

Rotor-wing question by

Hello all,
This is my first time posting here, but I figured maybe you all could
help me out with a question that has been nagging at me for quite a
while. Forgive me if this seems like a stupid question.
Here goes:
Does a helicopter, without lateral movement, have the ability to fly
down, or...
