I hooked up an oxygen regulator to a tank and opening the tank valve slowly it registered about 2200 psi. To check for the seal at the regulator connection I then turned off the tank valve with the regulator closed so that the gage was reading only the pressure of the few cc's of gas trapped...

October Aero'Lectric Temp Sensor Project by Paul Dow (Remove Caps in mail address)
We're always looking to do some educational subject at our EAA chapter meetings, so I think Jim's project in the October Kitplanes will be a useful item to build. It looks like a small project that can be put together in a couple of hours (although with our group, I better allocate some...

Source of large diameter thick wall tube by Bill Daniels
This request isn't exactly for an airplane but it's for a glider winch. I need to find a source for small amounts of 6.5" OD 1" wall steel tube. I don't care too much about the alloy as long as it's reasonably strong and both machinable and weldable. Thanks in advance. Bill Daniels

Starduster One pros and cons by [email protected]
Greetings, I've been looking for an open cockpit biplane to have fun with (already own and fly a 172) and was curious what opinions are about owning and flying a Starduster One. Especially with an O-290G to D conversion. How good or bad are their taildragger habits, what to expect from a maintence...

503 part name by Dean Scott
What is the official name of the part I would call the stator or magneto housing for a free-air cooled 503 engine? This part would replace the typical part called the Fan Housing, but DOES NOT have all the extra casting meant to hold the forced-air cooling fan... it's just a simple spacer ring...

Fiberglass revisited by Lou
I came across some fiberglass at 1.6oz per yard. I bought a small sample to play with but it's an extremely fine weave. I've been using the 1.45 oz e-glass for a while now. Can anyone tell me if this is just as good, better or worse to use? Lou

Why no plywood monocoque homebuilts? by [email protected]
Howdy, After reading a bit about the early Lockheed Vega, the Focker Albatross DIII and the Dehavilland Mosquito I was a bit suprised that plywood monocoque construction hasn't been used in any more modern airplanes. (Or at least none that I can think of) What gives? Is it cheaper to use glass...
