Just inches apart formation glider flying... by Bruno[_2_]
The quality of this video is just spectacular. Looks like a very large scale rc glider and a power rc with a camera flying in tight formation. Many times they are just inches from each other. While not the real thing (full scale sailplanes with pilots) it is fun to watch while the snow flies. ...

Question
BRS chutes. Why doesn't everyone use them? by Sparkorama
I'm just getting back into the sport after a long hiatus. I've seen that a lot of glider pilots fly with parachutes (ones they wear) and I have seen Ballistic Recovery System parachutes in planes as well. From my layman's view, it appears that getting out of a plane using a traditional chute after...

Another midair in the pattern by JJ Sinclair[_2_]
When I see the NTSB report 2 aircraft accidents at the same date, time & place, it only means one thing. They came together in the air or on the ground. On 12/20/10 in Madras Origon, a Taylorcraft and Cessna came together while both were trying to land on runway16. The Taylorcraft didn't have a...

Hi, I have had some requests for feedback on how Dittel has been handling the recall/upgrade of the Dittel FSG2T radios. I sent 12 customer radios back to Dittel on December 7th and receive them back today. There was no charge for the upgrades and repairs (there were some minor control knob...

BRS chutes. Why doesn't everyone use them? by Scott Lamont
We had a powered Monerai (with the 3-cyl Konig 24-hp radial) kicking around in the "rotting trailer" section of the airfield for a number of years. It also had a BRS installed. The owner died in 1987 so we were never able to find out what he expected would happen if he ever had to fire that thing...

DSX Safly (Safe Fly) Tracker by 5Z
There's also SpiderTracks - http://www.spidertracks.com/ I looked at this a while ago by following a banner ad on some aviation website. IIRC, the airborne unit is $2K (maybe less) and the data plan is also pretty expensive. -Tom
