Power Flarm with ADS-B out? by
Dave Benjamin
Is anyone aware of any near term plans for Power Flarm with an ADS-B out solution?
I fly airspace fairly congested with light GA aircraft, and would really like that powered traffic to be able to see me as well as me seeing them.
With most US powered aircraft being required to have ADS-B in...

O2 and by
quietpilot
Bouncing off a comment from another thread.
a number of we "not in our 40s anymore" pilots are setting the O2 to kick in at 5000 msl.
O2 is cheap. Clarity of mind at altitude - priceless!
Being in the middle of my 40s myself. I recall spending time periodically in various smoke...

Oxygen use at Hobbs by
WB
I'm an easterner (US) going to Hobbs in June and thinking about supplemental O2. Asking all y'all with experience at Hobbs: Roughly how often is O2 needed and how long is one on O2 per flight out there? Wondering how long my 15 ft3 tank will last.
Thanks!

Tow Plane Upsets...... by
Walt Connelly
I have been towing for about two and a half years and have logged over 6,500 tows. Having recently experienced a couple of rather violent glider kiting incidents, one at about 300 feet AGL I decided to investigate the experiences of other tow pilots in these circumstances. I have spent several...

A Talking Airspeed Indicator by
Soartech
Last year I was looking for such a device to allow me to montitor my speed more easily on approach so I didn't have to glance at the panel during this critical stage of flight. I found this affordable, small box that plumbs into your pitot line and runs on 12V. It is made in England. I only turn it...

Scratch removal advice needed by
MNLou
A week ago, I and my crew spent a fair part of day giving my glider a nice wax job. So, of course, 5 days later I landed out in a nice, freshly plowed corn field.
The landing went fine but, unfortunately, due to an uneven surface and excessive braking, I put AG up on her nose a couple of...

Cordele Showers? by
[email protected]
Not referring to the inevitable thundershowers. :) I'm entered in the Std. Class Nats next month and considering van camping again. I've flown there many times since 1971 and there's never been an on-airport shower available. Any change?
Alternatives? I know about the camping out at Lake...

As most of you have probably seen, its first three OLC flights were pretty impressive, with a combined distance of ~4,300 km. It is certainly a testament to the exceptional...

nose section from salvaged standard cirrus. by
Scott Williams
Hey Glider Community,
Does anyone have the nose section of a standard cirrus equipped with a nose release salvage for sale?
I'm considering adding a nose release to my cirrus, even though I have been told it's not cost effective by the U.S. Schempp-hirth Representative.
I'll probably never do it,...
