How many US Glider Examiners-Answer by
Terry
A few weeks ago, I asked that question here and a few other places that
would generate the answer. This morning, the answer fell into my lap.
There are 72 examiners authorized to conduct the CFI exam, and 24 more
that are only authorized to conduct private and commercial for a total
of 96.
My...

Common speaker for vario and radio by
toad
Electronics guru's,
Can I use 1 speaker for both by radio (Becker 3201) and vario (LX160).
Both call for a 4ohm speaker.
Would connecting both to one speaker still work ?
Would it be too quiet ?
Any chance for damage to the radio or vario ?
Thanks

We have one glider pilot less by
iPilot
I'm sorry to say that another Estonian glider pilot passed away on April
16-th after spinning to earth on final because making a downwind turn at
100ft while trying to eliminate excess heght. Glider involved was Cobra-15
(rented from our club).
It particularly hurts us because there's so few of us...

LX1000 Wiring Diagram by
Luke Roberts
Does anyone have a manual, or wiring diagram for the
Avionic Dittel LX1000 vario. I have one with various
wires hanging off it, but some have been cut off.
A simple numbered chart for the 15 pin (DB15) plug
would be fine.
Thanks, Luke

Fiberglass/gelcoat repair question by
Kilo Charlie
In Arizona we land on runways with lots of rocks. Rocks probably help to
create some of our awesome conditions but they really do a spanking on the
gelcoat.
My LS-8 has a fiberglass tail fairing....compound curves and part of the
tail overall. The rocks are thrown into it from the front and...

Brake adjustment on the 2-33 by
GM
Question to all of the 2-33 'connoiseurs' in the US:
I checked the brakes of both club 2-33. Although the linings look good,
I cannot get any decent brake action. I also noticed that the brake
lever on the wheel and the cable are almost in a straight line before
the linings contact the drum. So,...

decided that the time had come to release the 1.0...

with the glider that requires his immediate attention:
Pilot Entry: Glider seems to have a new rattle.

Swivel On Winch Cable by
John Sp
Tost's cable handling notes prohibet the use of a swivel between the cable
and winch parachute They say it destroys the multistrand cable.- Swivel is
only to be used for towing out.
THis is counter intuitive - can anyone offer an explanation why this is so?
Thanks

Here. I'll do you one more favor then you are on your own.
www.keyhole.com
Now, gliderfolk, you are going to have to PAY. That's right. You can
use it for a week for free but then you have to decide between that new
baseball cap with the propellor on top, a pocket pen protector or
