Contest Grid Spacing? by
ContestID67[_2_]
We have a small informal "contest" going on this weekend at Sky
Soaring outside of Chicago (http://skysoaring.com) and are laying out
the grid for about 20 gliders. The even gliders are in one line and
odd gliders in the other. We are about to start painting numbers on
the turf and said to...

Covered 13 meter Duster Trailer by
Wayne Paul
A friend of mine recently purchased a very nice 13 meter Duster with an open
trailer. He is currently planning to replace the open trailer by building a
covered trailer. Web links to pictures of Duster covered trailers will be
appreciated. Or you can send pictures directly to me via...

Getting Raptured This Saturday? by
sisu1a
I won't be, so can you please leave me as custodian/guardian of your
glider? It would really help me enjoy the last 5 months of
civilization, and from the post-rapture weather predictions I've read
it sounds like the thermals will be GREAT! I'd really like to get the
paperwork settled before...

Day 4 Central Calif. Soaring Club Spring Contest by
Alex[_5_]
The contest is over. We had beautiful post-frontal weather today after
a rainy evening. There were booming thermals all over the San Joaquin
Valley, marked by fantastic cloud streets. Some over-developement
early, but the air was drying out as the day progressed, and the
clouds got even better...

Oudie not making valid IGC files by
Tony[_5_]
My last few flights have been with Oudie only and when uploading to
the OLC the IGC validation has failed. I also had a format issue with
my last flight and had to send it to the OLC help email. The response
I got said "I fixed the file, but it has no signature at the end, so
it will be invalid...

Looking for a spare canopy (Nimbus 2C) by
gregv
Hello,
I am looking for a spare canopy for my Nimbus 2C. I need it in order
to do aerial photography, my camera is too big to go trough the
window, so I must drill a larger hole. So a damaged or second hand
canopy would be great!
Do you know where I can find such a thing? Do you think other...

FAI IGC File Name Decoding by
ContestID67[_2_]
A while ago I created an Excel Spreadsheet to decode IGC file names
into something more useful to the average mind.
I just updated it to include all the new manufacturers in the past few
years and a number of other small changes.

Enjoy!

Which SPOT to buy? by
noel.wade
OK All,
I'm finally taking the plunge and will get a SPOT before my first
contest flight this year (this is all Paul C's fault).
But I'm curious with the 3 major SPOT options out there now, is there
a consensus which one is best? I did a quick search on past RAS posts
but didn't find anything...

digital ballasts by
julia joy
Another great feature of digital ballasts is the ability to run both
MH and HPS bulbs on the same ballast without having to flip a switch
(it should be noted that not all digital ballasts on the market are
programmed (or optimized) to do this properly, Eclipse LED digital
ballasts are). Research...
