Fake Cockpit by Flubke
A little question, below the cockpit of the A10 for example, there has been painted a fake cockpit. Maybe it sounds a little stupid but I don't get the military use of that. Can anybody explain me why they do that. I've seen it a dozen times and I simply don't get it. Greetz

F-4 w/AIM-9 and bombs carriage question by Guy Alcala
I've been looking through Shlomo Aloni's Osprey book on Israeli F-4 Phantom aces, and I note that around the time of the '73 war when they want to carry AIM-9s, they either 1. don't carry any A/G stores on that pylon (when carrying two AIM-9D/Gs on the shoulder mounts), or 2. only carry a single...

Spitfire Controls by N-6
Anyone out there that has flown or been in the cockpit of a Supermarine Spitfire? I am wondering about the circular control "handle" particular to the British fighter and how it seems to me that it would have been quite awkward or uncomfortable to use (compared to a conventional fighter stick)...

Saw you on The History Channel yesterday, Ed. Even though you're a "braggard" and claim "victriry", etc., it was good to see someone on there that I feel like I know. It was the clip from when you finished your 100 missions in VN. Keep up the good work on the ng, I always read your posts (can't...

My view, too dangerous and too expensive just to thrill a bunch of overweight weenies. Military airshows, in particular, should be banned and I mean banned immediately. Tetherhorne P. Flutterblast
