Lockheed Lancer? by
Brendan Grace
Does anyone have any links or info on the Lockheed effort back in the 70s
for competition with the YF-16 and YF-17? It was
a derivative of the F-104 but I don't know what happened to the program or
even if a mock up was built.

How long until current 'stealth' techniques are compromised? by
muskau
Hi, I've been browsing the newsgroup archives for the last month and haven't
found a clear answer to this question. I find alot of the subject topics
here tend to go off on to talks about politics.
It seems alot of importance is put into stealth for aircraft these days,
just wondering who is...

Punctured pressure cabin. by
M. J. Powell
There has been a bit of a furore over here concerning the new US
requirement to airlines to supply air marshals when requested. The
concern is mainly over the possible puncture of a pressure cabin.
What do readers think is the result of decompression via a bullet hole?

Vertical and Short Takeoff / Landing Fighters by
Aviation
My young nephew is convinced that the F-14 can land vertically, as
in drop straight down and land. As far as I can tell, that just
ain't so. From the right perspective, can it ever appear that an
F-14 is 'hovering' and 'dropping down' onto a carrier deck? (I
thought F-14 carrier landings would...

F/A 18 by
Richard
About 15 years ago I saw a RAAF F/A 18 perform at Ohakea in New Zealand.
After takeoff it flew out to sea. It returned from behind a hangar
travelling slowly down the runway on its tail. The hangar obscured our view
of the transition. It continued down the runway at perhaps 30 mph and 50
metres...

Dambusters DVD fails on CyberHome 400 by
Robert Briggs
I have a problem with my DVD player and one particular disc which yields
only (or most readily, at least) to use of the GOTO button.
The player is a CyberHome CH-DVD 400, bought a while back from WHS.
The disc is Channel 4's "The Dambusters", about some current Royal Air
Force personnel trying to...

other Russian "advisors" in combat? by
David Windhorst
I've Googled this, but haven't been able to narrow it down enough yet to
get a workable number of finds, so I'll ask he have Russian/Sovbloc
pilots flown combat missions, openly or otherwise, for their
client/customer states in other conflicts since Korea?
Thanks.

Lancaster Sound Recording. by
M. J. Powell
At the risk of boring everyone to distraction I have a couple of new
points to make.
I've been watching this evening the repeat Tx on Ch4 of the programme
where they took an RAF crew and trained them on a simulator to repeat
the Dams' raid.
As part of their training they were taken to Canada and...
