Mike[_32_]
I am planing on sending a glider to AMS for refinish and as you can
imagine freight is a big issue. Can anyone offer guidance to shippers
or freight forwarders that may take the glider and trailer as RO/RO to
either Kopers in Solvenia, or Trieste, in Italy (my base port would be

During the trip to Joshua Approach which Cindy Brickner organised

What is going on with OLC? by
Greg Arnold
1. The flights for OLC-League are now being scored on the basis of a
single leg, which means that unless your longest leg is 2.5 hours you
will be penalized. Maybe this is just a software error.
2. For each pilot's flight, there are not only scores for OLC-Classic,
OLC-FAI, and OLC-League,...

Distance to Goal Flight in Texas by
ryanglover1969[_2_]
In 1980 Kenneth Atreburn set the record for a distance to goal flight
in the 15 meter class in Texas at 532 miles.
And in 1973 Carson Gilmer set the standard class record at 503 miles.
Does anyone know any details of these flights? Interested especially
where they flew from.
Thanks, Ryan

Becker radio repair by

My Becker radio stopped working recently and I'm trying to determine
what to do next. It transmits a carrier tone when the mic is keyed,
but no voice. Any speculation on what is most likely the problem? The
wires that go from the mic to the D connector on the back of the radio
test positive for...

Sailplanes are white...because of gelcoat? by
Bret
I always thought sailplanes were white so the interior structure
wouldn't overheat and approach the glass temperature of epoxy, about
190 F, and fail. And yet I see homebuilt aircraft of wood/epoxy
structure painted all colors. So is it the gelcoat that the white
color is protecting?
