Post-Annual Flight by
Jay Honeck[_2_]
We decided to move the annual inspection for Atlas -- our '74 Cherokee
Pathfinder -- into February, since there has been little use for an airplane
this winter. As a result of the weather and the annual (bless me Father,
for I have sinned...) it had been 20 days since our last flight.
I've...

The Angry White Man by

I believe the vast majority of private pilots in America fit
this class group.
There is a great amount of interest in this year’s
presidential elections, as everybody seems to recognize that
our next president has to be a lot better than George Bush.
The Democrats are riding high with two...

About Stall Psychology and Pilots by
Dudley Henriques[_2_]
I've been reading the interesting thread started by Rocky about stall vs
the modern pilot. I'd like to offer some added comment on this subject
as this exact issue is closely associated with the human factors
research work I've done and am doing now on a continuing basis within
the air show...

Bought new safety feature, SPOT sat by
Robert M. Gary
I just bought a SPOT system and I'm thinking this could be pretty cool
(especially for trips to central America). It sits on your glareshield
and transmits your position to a sat every 10 minutes. That info is
stored and anyone you choose can go online and see your position on
Google Earth. If you...

Is this the death of GA by
[email protected]
I had an airplane that I had to sacrifice for graduate school 4 years
ago. Now finish and looking to get back in the game, I find local
avgas prices in my area range from over $6 to over $7!!! (Up from
$2.30).
I know the price of gas has gone up but man, those increases have been
amplified in...

Ferry pilot's book? by
Dallas
Not long ago NW_Pilot was talking about a book he read that got him started
in the business. (Unless I'm imagining it), I recall it being by the
preeminent ferry pilot in the business. I can't find a reference to it
now.
Anybody know the title?

SPoT satellite locator by
Cubdriver
Has anyone here bitten on the SPoT tracker, which is amazing cheap at
$150 (plus $100/year for basic service)?
I had every intention of buying a Personal Locator Beacon when they
first came out, but the thousand dollars caused me to keep putting it
off.

teaching emergency landings...How low do you go... by
gatt[_2_]
My first instructor liked to have me practice emergency landings over rural
Oregon. Although we observed basic airspace rules, we'd get down below
treetop levels, short final, maybe 100' or less before go around. Once, I
could see the startled expression on a farmer's face as he watched us. ...
