Trike vs Fixed Wing U/L vs Gyros by
BARTFIO
Does anyone here have experience in all three of these type a/c? I would like
to know which of the 3 would handle cross winds best and which has a safer
overall
operational record. So far, I've read that the gyro is better with crosswinds
(ref Dr. Taggart) than even some factory fixed wings. I...

K&N Performance Gold Oil Filter? by
MikeremlaP
Anyone tried a K&N oil filter on their Lycoming yet?
Was thumbing thru the latest Summit Racing catalog. Saw K&N oil filter on p
133, lower right. A lot of us are using K&N air filters already.
On the oil, they claim 10-micron filtration, which, according to Light Planes
Maintenance, is the...

Homebuilding Killed John Denver by
never_moore352
I just read in the newspaper that John Denver was killed in a
homebuilt airplane? That got me thinking to look for a NG that might
be dedicated to this activity, and I found this one.
This is all new to me, quite honestly, and disturbing. People are
building airplanes at home and then flying...

Lanceair by
Dico Reyers
Hello,
I'm posting this message for a friend who's looking to build a
Lanceair for someone who may not have the time to build one
themselves.
He's a retired mechanic having worked for Air Canada for many years on
everything up to the 747.
Anyhow, if you want a Lanceair however can't build one......

CESSNA 120/140 PARTS CATALOG
This 1965 Cessna publication has about 150 8½" x 11 pages. Apparently every
rivet, bolt, wire and airframe part on a Cessna 120 or 140 is shown on one
page, and identified on the adjoining page by a factory part number or an
AN-number. If you have any thoughts of...

Was hoping to see the type given in the morning paper, no luck. I saw

airplane. Pilot, M. Hardin of Chewelah, and passenger, M. Robinson,
received only minor cuts scrapes. News said it was a fiberglass 2

continuous carburettor heating? by
Rob Turk
What are the pros and cons of continually heating the carburettor body with
a stream of warm air? Not the inlet air, just the body. The intent is to
minimise the risk of carb-ice, will it have that effect? Will there be
impact on the performance of the engine (Jabiru 3300)?
